Jotul is a manufacturer of cast iron wood stoves, gas stoves and fireplace inserts. Jotul, a Norwegian company, is part of the Jotul Group, which is owned by the investment company Ratos. Ratos had sales of approximately $3.5 billion in 2017.
Jotul was founded by Oluf Onsom as a cast iron stove company near Oslo, Norway, in 1853. Today Jotul products are sold in 43 countries on six continents. Its main production facilities are located in Norway and Denmark.
Jotul stoves have been imported in the U.S. since the 1970’s, and Jotul North America was founded in Maine in 1980. Jotul North America employs approximately 75 people and sells approximately 17,000 wood and gas stoves and inserts in North America annually. All Jotul wood and gas stoves sold in North America today are manufactured in Gorham, Maine.
Jotul’s large line of wood stoves includes the F370, which features a modern design and is approved for use with wood bio-fuels. Wood stoves range in heating capacity from the F602, designed to heat up to 800 square feet, to the F600, which can heat up to 2,500 square feet.
The Jotul GF370 gas stove has won several design awards, including the Norwegian Award for Design Excellence. Gas stoves range in heating capacity from the GF200, designed to heat up to 800 square feet, to the GF500 DV and the GF600, both of which can heat up to 2,000 square feet.

The Jotul wood stove is covered by a limited lifetime parts warranty, 5-year warranty on cast iron and steel components, 2-year warranty on the enamel finish, and a 1-year warranty on electrical components.
Gas stoves are covered by a 5-year warranty on cast iron, steel doors, surround components and the firebox. The burner, burner treatments and firebox panel have a 2-year warranty. There is a 1-year warranty on gas and electrical components.
