Harman Stoves manufactures and markets pellet stoves, wood stoves and both indoor and outdoor gas and wood fireplaces. The company is owned by Hearth and Home Technologies, Inc, which claims to be the largest hearth manufacturer in the world, and, in addition to Harman, owns brands such as Quadra-Fire, PelPro and Vermont Castings. Hearth and Home itself is a division of HNI Corporation, a publicly-traded company (NYSE: HNI) focused on products and services for the home and office.
The Harman Stove Company was founded in 1979 by Dane Harman, after he built a stove for his family's personal use. The company holds several patents related to stoves, including one related to the automated feed system for transporting pellets from the hopper to the firebox. Hearth and Home Technologies, Inc. acquired Harman in 2007.
Harman stoves are more expensive than the average wood and pellet stove, starting at around $2,300 and working their way up to more than $4,000 before installation.
Harman markets 7 lines of pellet stoves, which are distinguished by their capacity, style and materials (cast iron or steel). All series have a viewing window which allows the homeower to see the flame.
The company markets 5 lines of wood stoves, ranging in heat output from the Oakleaf to the TL300.
