" Tankless Water Heater"
I have owned the Rheem Model # ECO200DVLN3 tankless water heater for one and 1/2 years now and am very satisfied with this product. I replaced the traditional gas water heater and, as advertised, the gas savings with a tankless water heater are pretty dramatic (25-30%). It is a little louder than I would have liked, but the savings (both space and dollars) more than make up for that. The most impressive aspect of the heater is that is heats the water 'on-demand'. In other words, it will not be heating the water at 3 a.m. when me and my family are fast asleep (thus, using energy and costing $$); rather, it only comes on when we are in need of hot water, and never anytime else. Ours is rated for a small home (3 bedrooms, 1+ bath) and it delivers exceptional service even when a shower is in use while the dishes are being washed. I would highly recommend this product.

"GREAT VALUE - very efficient"
I have only had this water heater for a few months, but I like it. I needed to replace my whole system at the time. My current water heater was so old, it was put in when the house was build, and they don't make parts anymore to fix it. I wanted to upgrade to a more efficient model that would eventually lower my bills. Plus there is the tax rebate. So far, it works great. I have not run out of hot water. It was very important when I had guests staying with me to remain comfortable. I was worried at first, but this made it through multiple hot showers without fail. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to replace their water heater. I think the only con I can think of, was that it was a little more expensive than I was hoping for. However I am hoping that I will get the savings back on my gas bill down the line.

"Energy Efficient and Fast"
I purchased the Rheem EcoSense 9.5 GPM in June, 2011 after a friend (a Master Plumber) said it was time for the old unit to be replaced. It was purchased through his recommendation and it was amazingly. It's very efficient and we never run out of hot water as we did in the past. Although we purchased this only a short period of time, I am confident that it will last a very long time. My only negative about it was the price, but I truly believe that you get what you pay for and I wanted a high quality unit that would also add to value to my home. Since purchasing it, I have recommended it to a few friends, 1 of whom also purchased it. We both have only great things to say about its performance.

"On-demand is the way to go"
Whether you like being "Green" or just have teenagers who use up all the hot water, the on-demand water heaters are the way to go. I have the Rheem Eco-Sense and I love it. It is Earth conscious because it is tankless -- there is no need to constantly warm water that is not being used. And, because it heats water as you need it, there are no cold showers when you're the last one in the bathroom in the morning. I am not particularly handy, so I did not opt for the self-installation. However, my plumber that installed it last year assured me that I probably could have done it myself. In addition to the satisfaction on the user end, I like having the extra space in my utility room. There is no need to find room for a giant tank water heater. Go green, love your extra space , and love your long hot showers. You won't be disappointed.

He asked for opinions on different brands, but at the end of the thread he said that Rheem sent a new water heater and it was working well. There are a couple of general questions about installing and wiring the unit on diychatroom.com and doityourself.com.
