Overview of the PH50CABPS
Pleasant Hearth is manufactured by Hearth and Home Technologies, and owned by GHP Group. The company produces three stoves; a large pellet stove, a medium pellet stove, and a cabinet pellet stove. The PH50CABPS is the cabinet pellet stove and falls in between the two in price. The unit has the capacity to heat up to 2,200 square feet. It measures 26" x 24" x 35 ¾ ", which is similar to Pleasant's large pellet stove, though slightly larger. The PH50CABPS comes with the largest hopper of the three, at 120 pounds, which the company claims, can burn for up to 70 hours.
The stove comes with Exclusive Comfort Control System, which is a one-knob control for setting the heat. Pleasant claims the system will work to automatically maintain the heat level. It also comes with Exclusive Integrated Diagnostics, which the company claims makes troubleshooting easy. There is a ceramic glass viewing area of the fire. It is mobile home approved with the outside air kit, which comes included with the stove. It runs on premium fuel pellets. The stove is manufactured in the United States.
The stove retails for $1,549 on the GHP Group site.
The Pleasant Hearth PH50CABPS Pellet Stove is EPA certified under the New Source Performance Standard, and is approved for Phases I and II. It was tested to operate at 78% efficiency. Most EPA certified pellet stoves fall in the 70 - 83% efficiency range, so the Pleasant Hearth PH50CABPS Pellet Stove is toward the upper end.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance
Problem: the unit will not light
Possible causes: There are a number of possible causes, ranging from a lack of fuel to an issue with the igniter or firepot.
What do do: Feed the hopper if there is no fuel. You can also clean the firepot and make sure it is facing the correct direction. You may need a technician to reconnect the feed motor or replace the igniter.
Problem: fire will not stay lit
Possible causes: There are several possible causes, as the manual notes it could be due to a dirty firepot, an issue with the exhaust path or venting, or an issue with the exhaust probe.
What to do: Clean the firepot and check the flue vent for any obstruction. Have a technician inspect the exhaust path, as well as the venting and firebox. This issue may require attention on the right side of the stove, as the technician will need to remove a panel on that side to check the exhaust probe.
Problem: the feed motor will not shut off
Causes: The motor has short circuited and a fuse may need to be replaced. This causes the feed motor to stay on when the stove is powered.
What to do: Opening the hopper will stop the feed motor. Have a technician inspect the unit to determine why it short circuited, then replace the control board and failed part.

"Good size, easy to clean, works well for the cost"
We bought our pellet stove just over a year ago, we were looking for a space heater that was eco-friendly and wouldn't run up our electric bill. After deciding that a pellet stove was the right choice, we researched to find something in our budget that still worked well. Pleasant Hearth had several options that were in our price range that had good reviews, so we went with the one that fit us best. The model we chose is the perfect size for our 1-bedroom house, it is the exact thing we were looking for to keep our living areas warm all winter without driving up our energy bill. It is quite a bit of maintenance, because we got a less-expensive version, we have to clean it often but it is VERY easy to clean, the ash box is just a quick vacuum once every two weeks or so. It is a bit louder than we'd like, but we're still able to have a conversation at a confortable level around it. All in all, it was a good deal for the price.

"The best working stove ever."
My pellet stove works wonders and it heats my house up with ease in the cold winters. I've had my stove for 2 years and I really like the sleek design and how well it works. The only thing I did not like about this stove was trying to figure out how it worked when I first purchased it. After I figured that out, I was very happy and pleased with this stove. I never had to repair it and it never stopped working on me yet. I would definitely recommend this stove for anyone to purchase because it is well worth it and it was a very good purchase decision for me. I hope this stove lasts a long time and saves me from many cold winters yet to come. This stove is a good buy for any family looking for warmth this winter season.

Replaced old Earth pellet stove. Stove runs much quieter than old stove. Fits nicely on hearth. Easy to use. Love the thermostat. Set to a temp and leave it. Will turn on as needed. Start up and turn off as per thermostat. Hopper holds ALOT of pellets. Stove uses much less pellets than old stove. 2 1/2 days. Used 1/2 bag of pellets. 50'5 and 60's day time temps. Cost was fabulous, husband and brother installed without any difficulty. Price, great. Ease of install and use, great. Noise level, great. Amount of heat output, great.

"Love My New Pellet Stove"
I've had this unit for about a month now and I LOVE it! It's compact, easy to use, and keeps the place nice and warm! My wife gets cold very easily and it is difficult to find a temperature that is pleasant for the both of us. Since purchasing this unit, we haven't had an issue and it's wonderful! She likes to wrap up in a blanket, get next to it, and read her books. The only thing I'm sad about is the fact that we did not get this sooner! I've already told all my family and friends about it and they all seem interested in buying one too! If I had to do this all over again, I would absolutely not even think twice about getting this unit again. I love it, my wife loves it, and our dogs love it! It's really a quality product and I don't know how we went without it before!
Other PH50CABPS Reviews
The pellet stove rates fine on retail websites, but nothing outstanding or terrible. Some of the positive remarks include good heating for large spaces, and good efficiency in regards to the burning of pellets.
On the negative side, there seems to be an issue with the auger feeding, setting the temperature, and not being easy to clean. One reviewer explained marking the temperature setting knob with a permanent marker helps solve the problem.
Positives on independent review sites also to point to good heating, as well as reliability and affordability. A negative, one pointed out, is that many users complain about how much noise the unit makes.
The 120 pound hopper is also a positive for many, and with the long burn time, up to 70 hours, seems to be a big draw for this pellet stove.
The Pleasant Hearth PH50CABPS Pellet Stove comes with a 5-year warranty through parent company GHP Group. It is exclusive to the original owner, and cannot be transferred. If the owner needs to claim something under warranty, they should contact GHP Group customer service. GHP says not to attempt to service the equipment yourself.
