5 year old unit with 5 service calls. Poor electronics and leaks due to manufacturing placement of lines.

"Great system and contractor"

We had a wonderful experience with Michael Boccacino Inc. HVAC, they were courteous, kind, friendly and easy to work with. Their bid was cheaper than their competitors with a better system. This is our second York heat pump and the first one lasted longer than expected so we wanted to go with it again. Five stars to both the contractor and the system.

We entertained 8 contractors for estimates on replacing our aging heat pump, a 14+ year old American Standard. With that many estimates we had many different brands, a couple sizes (tonnages) and different efficiency levels to choose from. Pricing was also in the equation but not totally a deciding factor. I also wanted a unit that was built in the USA, so that eliminated several choices right away. In the end it was between York and Trane. We selected the York for one big reason, that being, repair part availability. Our contractor sells both brands but explained the York's repair parts are readily available and with Trane, more times than not, you have to wait a few days for a part to be shipped in. Of course, no unit breaks down in Arizona when it is 70 degrees, so we selected the York brand. Also the price was a bit less, about $700. As for efficiency or the SEER rating, we went with the 14 SEER unit. We compared the costs of a more efficient unit and compared the payback period on our electric bill. At our electric rates the payback period was well beyond the life of the new unit. Yes, our electric rates are a bit lower than other parts of the country. So far the new unit is performing very well and keeping us comfortable. It has a stronger motor on the blower which moves more air around in the house when working, which helps the cooling work better. Our contractor also included a 10 year parts and labor warranty with the unit, along with the first two years maintenance visits. Most units only come with a 1 year parts & labor and then 9 more years parts only. The labor is an extra charge on top for the repair. This is something to investigate and consider when purchasing a new unit.

"Best system I have ever had!"

5.0 rating
Very Satisfied

I have had my York system installed for 4 years now and have absolutely no issues. The installation company was great and I got a 10-year parts and labor warranty with it. It's important to pick the right installation company, but I believe this is a superior product as well. It has cut my electric bill by 40%, it is extremely quiet, and it has made my home extremely comfortable. Thank you York!

This equipment is quiet, efficient and reasonably priced. We are very happy, especially with temperatures in July near 100 degrees. It is doing a great job. I would definitely buy this brand again.
