All three heat pumps use R-410A refrigerant.
New in January 2017 and failed within 5 weeks of use in Las Vegas heat season coils split wide open. I am getting runaround from Johnson controls/York on replacing obvious defective unit and have been without air conditioning for a week! The people in Norman Oklahoma could give a _ _ _ _ about their customers!

Had a York heat pump installed in 1995. After 22 years had to be replaced. In 22 years only a few nominal repairs. So of course went with York again and same contacts Michael Boccacino in Rochester, New York. Get new ecm variable air handler, humidifier and air cleaner too and 10 year parts and labor.

Somewhat Satisfied
Pleased with it so far however the brand new unit came with some fins on the condensing coil mashed or torn. Expected better quality from the factory than this but could have been done during transport.

Very Unsatisfied
I have a lake house with three York LX series heat pumps. The house is less than five years old, one of the heat pumps has been worked on five times, an $800 repair with a motor, three control boards have been replaced. It is the worst heat pump I've ever seen. We have tried two different contractors to get the unit fixed correctly, getting ready to try a third. Do not buy York unless you enjoy waiting around for HVAC.

Very Satisfied
We are very satisfied with the York heat pump installed in 2015. It heats the house evenly and his already saved us a considerable amount in electric bills.
As per the comments made by reviewers on sites such as gardenweb.com, York is known for creating and fabricating quality equipment that is comparable and in some cases superior in efficiency and cost to most other heat pump manufacturing companies. Comparisons were drawn with a variety of brands such as Trane, Goodman, Carrier and Lennox.
