The York Affinity YZH is a two-stage heat pump with an efficiency rating of up to 18 SEER and 10.0 HSPF. The unit was recognized as an Energy Star Most Efficient 2015 product. Its QuietDrive System is a combination of swept wing fan, composite base pan, isolated compressor compartment and two-stage compressor, which help keep sound levels as low as 68 decibels. An internal pressure relief valve, temperature sensor, and factory high and low pressure controls protect the compressor from unsafe temperatures and pressures, while a factory-installed filter drier is designed to remove moisture and contaminants from the system. The cabinet features an automotive-quality powder-coat paint finish to protect against corrosion. The Affinity YZH is part of the York Affinity series.
This has been a very efficient system. Saw energy saving as soon as we pulled our Trane unit out which was only 2 years old at the time of replacement. Would recommend york to anyone that ask me. If there is a problem that is a manufacture issue they will stand up behind in 100% and it is built in America.

"Finally a heat pump that heats"
5.0 rating
Very Satisfied
Our energy bills have decreased. Our new system manages humidity very well. Our house is much more comfortable than it has ever been. Prior to moving to this house we heated with gas and we were always warm. During winter operation this unit does not blow cold air as our former unit did prior to replacing it with this York Affinity YZH03611. Overall we are very pleased with the operation and the comfort level obtained. We only have one complaint, the condensing unit (outside heat pump unit) is a little noisy on start up.

"Brand new and cool"

Now, let me say right off the bat, the unit is brand-spanking new. Like, been here less than 12 hours now. But, wow… In that 12 hours, it's become my new bff. First off, we live in a 2000 square foot house in East Tennessee, where it gets up to 100 in the summer and got down to zero this past winter. Our heat pumps take a beating in this area. Add to that, 90% humidity most of the summer, and you've got a recipe for killing heat pumps. So, our old one died in a smidge over 10 years. It (in my opinion) had never been large enough for the house (we bought the house 3 years ago. It's the original heat pump). It'd never cool below 70, even if we had it set below that. And, it had to kick into emergency heat a lot during the super cold days of the winter. The new unit was installed on a humid July day, and took the house from 75 (all doors and windows open just before) to 70 in about 2 hours. Also, dropped the humidity like a rock. It sounded like a water fall going through the pump's external hose. Our contractor recommended the York, and my husband was used to seeing them in large, industrial applications as an electrician. He said they ran no matter what. So, we'll see how it lasts. With the fantastic warranty, I imagine we won't have any issues.

From the start to the finish and now that the system is up and running, I have been impressed with the contractor and with the performance of the equipment. The system has surpassed our expectations. We got the added benefit dehumidification, which I was not aware was an option with the system, but the contractor went over every aspect of the system and all the benefits. We have seen a reduction in our power bill and a significant difference in comfort. Looking forward to a great season and future with our new system!

Very Unsatisfied
In 3 years this entire unit has been replaced once, even the outside cabinet, and the compressor has been replaced twice. This is the third compressor. If the outside temperature is below 50, the temperature inside my well-insulated house will not go above 70. In summer it gets no cooler than 73-74 degrees. York used to be the standard but I suspect the manufacturing has been outsourced and now York is a joke.

In response to a question about a York unit on terrylove.com, a homeowner stated that he had installed the YZH and loved it. He mentioned the quietness of the unit, saying that you can stand next to it and hardly hear it, and stated that he had not had any problems with it at all.
