New York furnace installed in a house in Dec. 2010. The first thing that quit on it was the induction blower motor. Warranty paid for the part not the service call or labor charge. Temperature outside when the furnace quit that night was 0 degrees. Next, in the winter of 2015 the main blower quit. Again the warranty paid for the part but not the service call or labor. Spent about 300 dollars on service calls and labor so far. Dumb. Next in the winter of 2018-2019 I’ve had problems all winter with this thing. The main blower will work sometimes and then sometimes it won’T. Had three different service technicians from three different companies come work on it. None of these can fix it. I had one guy come on a Sunday ( which is when it would usually quit) boy was he a grouch because I made him work on a Sunday! The last technician installed a new control board on it the first week of April. Here it is the third week of April and it quit again. I had to pay for parts and labor this time. Since December 2018 to April 2019 I’ve spent 800 dollars on service calls and parts. And here my 81 year old mother and me are sitting in a cold house. Again!!! This York furnace has got to go. And good riddance!

"Noisy."

Noisy! Unit installed in basement in utility room and noise upstairs still load. Have to increase tv volume to hear. Noise is from fan unit and combustion chamber/flame. When flame kicks in it makes a load roaring sound which after a minute gets a little quitter, but still noisy. Will need to sound proof utility room to reduce noise levels. Unit does it’s job and heats the house just fine and after a month have had no mechanical or electrical problems. Would buy different brand due to noise the unit makes during operation. Our old unit a Heil was not near as noisy, you would think after 22 years they would have even quitter units, not so with York.

I had this unit installed in April, 2016. In the last month I have had no heat on 3 different occasions and they have not yet determined the problem (as of December 29, 2016). The problem with these type of units are the circuit boards are exposed to the elements…merely covered by a metal panel. The problems only occur on cold, damp, humid days after the unit has not been turned on for hours. I feel that these environmental factors are causing my problems. Being a Computer guy for 40 years, I know circuit boards do not work well in a damp environment. I get the usual from the company that installed “we installed hundreds of these and never had this problem” Yeah right. Stay away from these type of units, especially from York

Very Satisfied
The York furnace is a quiet and small unit. The installation was completed by Proair, a reputable company and local contractor. The installation was completed quickly and professionally. We researched several different furnace companies and the York warranty is far superior to any other available units and very quiet. We also have a old musty basement where the furnace is installed and this new furnace has helped to dry out the basement and remove the musty smell. This is also a very cost efficient unit and we have noticed our house is more comfortable and the heating bill is less. This is a great unit.
One user at GardenWeb.com describes the York LX furnaces as “nice”. The reviewer appreciates the compressor jacket which makes the unit quieter. Another comment from doityourself.com states that the York LX furnaces has the ECM feature which allows owners to get constant air circulation by running the fan on a low speed. This benefit is more noticeable in multi-level homes.
