York’s Affinity line consists of two gas furnaces: the Affinity YPLC, offering 80% AFUE, and the 98% AFUE Affinity YP9C. Winner of the Consumers Digest “Best Buy” award, the 98% AFUE YP9C is Energy Star rated and has a multi-position configuration.
Both the high-efficiency and base-line unit use a variable speed EMC blower motor for quiet, efficient operation and a modulating design that constantly adjusts heating levels for maximum comfort.
Additional components of the Affinity series include: reinforced cabinets, gasket doors, and York’s Climatrak Comfort System, a feature that customizes operation to the conditions of any region. With its compact 33-inch height, the Affinity series can also fit into tight spots around the home.
Along with the current YPLC and YP9C series, there are several discontinued series in the Affinity furnace line, including the Affinity 8.S, with an efficiency of 80% AFUE; Affinity 8.V, also offering an efficiency of 80% AFUE; Affinity 9V, with a 92% AFUE; and the Affinity 8.T.
This furnace is a great unit. It keeps the house nice and warm while saving money on our utility bill, and we cannot hear this furnace cycle on no matter how cold the weather is outside. We are very pleased with this purchase!
I moved into this house in October and it has a four-year-old Affinity 9C gas furnace, it’s supposed to be the Cadillac of furnaces. I have had nothing but trouble with it. It keeps shutting itself down and I have to keep re-setting it so it will run. I have had service personnel here about a dozen times and they have done everything the York tech dept has suggested, including relocating venting, enhancing drainage, replacing the mother board, gas valve, wiring harnesses, etc. I’m still having the same problem. The error codes tell me it’s a gas flow problem, but everything has been replaced! This is still ongoing. I am very frustrated and not impressed with the product so far. I hope they can find the problem and change my mind.
"York & Nicholson’s Heat & Air review"
I’ve had a great experience with Nicholson’s Heat & Air. Very professional and sensitive to the needs of my home and family. I would recommend them and the York system to anyone and everyone!

I am having trouble writing this review, because I feel like the biggest loser. I didn’t do my research and bought a product that has been very unreliable. I’m stressed and tired. During the furnace’s heating cycle, the burner shuts off and the fan continues to run, blowing cold air. From day one, I’ve had to contact the technician who installed it. It’s year five and the thing still has this intermittent issue. He wasn’t able to figure it out, so out came the rep. He was also puzzled by the issue. I’ve got three young children and this furnace has added so much stress to my life. I don’t know where to go from here. Tomorrow I’m going to call the rep. Again. I’m not a religious person, but please god help me!
We had a new York modulating furnace installed and our home is more comfortable than ever. The even temperatures and the quiet running cycles were very important to us. Not really knowing how comfortable and quiet it would be until it was installed, we are very satisfied.
