Had this a YCJF 14.5 SEER unit installed in my house last Saturday. Love it, it's quiet and uses 6 amps less than our old unit!
So far I'm satisfied with the cooling but only had it installed in May & we are in the middle of June. I could give you better answers after August.
"Own dealers won't provide service"
Bought an entire matched system – outdoor 2.5 ton, 80k/95% afue – to get 16 seer, and I called their local dealer to do the install. They won't even return my calls. When I emailed York about this, there was no reply. Pretty much you're on your own – you didn't buy the units from us, so we're not going to install them. Still looking for an independent to install so I can't rate their equipment yet.
"York outdoor unit, model number YCJF42S41S1"
This York A/C LX series was installed in 2010. The first two years were great. Quiet unit. Could really tell the difference. By July 2014, something wasn't right. It wasn't cooling. The ofm was bad. The warranty covered the parts but I had to pay a warranty handling fee. Are you kidding? Now here we are April, 2015, and during my A/C check the coolant was really really low. There's a leak somewhere. The worst purchase I ever made was this York. I am so disappointed in this product. I will never by a York again. I have a feeling we are going to have to eat the cost of this one, though it's not 5 years old yet, and get something else.
