The York YCJF is a split system, single-stage air conditioner with an efficiency rating of up to 16.5 SEER. The YCJF is an Energy Star qualified product. The unit features a space-saving MicroChannel coil and a permanently lubricated fan motor. A compressor sound blanket and swept wing fan blade help reduce sound levels. The cabinet is made of galvanized steel with a powder paint finish which resists corrosion and rust. The YCJF is part of the York LX series.
I purchased an entirely new system, inside and outside units because of the age and issues with the original system. The contractor offered this system with a 10 year warranty, parts and labor but now I am seeing that isn't the case. I hope the system does not break down as I am disabled.

"This gives me a comfortable summer"
I am very satisfied with this York brand YCJF condenser unit. It is very quiet.
"The Best Air Conditioner Product"
I bought this product last year. It is 1.5 tons and has a 10-year warranty. This product's efficiency is 16.5 SEER, probably more than average efficiency. This air conditioner also has an Energy Star label, which means this product is 25% more efficient than any other brand based on EPA and DOE guidelines. What I really like about it is its microchannel coil. These microchannel coil lets the product use less space. Therefore it is pretty much smaller than other products whose cooling effect is as efficient as this product. Since last year, I never had any problem with it nor needed a replacement for parts or any trouble at all. Simply amazing. I have nothing to dislike about this product, I mean, I like all its features. Compared to other brands, the overall satisfaction and quality of this product is much better. That is why it has the Good Housekeeping Seal as a symbol of its earned trust and high quality for the past century. I would definitely recommend it to others who are planning to buy an air conditioner.

We have recently started installing Champion/York equipment. All made by Johnson Controls. When a person chooses to install equipment, they should look at who is installing it. Cheaper is not always better, and you get what you pay for in terms of the install crew. We can install any system and have the same issues with any of them. The most important day in the life of any system is the day of installation. So if you pay for a guy with a van or truck that has a sign on it, that is the work you get. If everyone would read their insurance policy you would know that you need to hire someone who is licensed and bonded. If not and something happens to your house, it's your problem, not theirs. York/Champion/Luxaire all this equipment is good. You might just want to look at your installer.

"Junk, Junk, Junk"
Haven't had a good night's sleep in 3 weeks due to hot weather and no AC. Brand new unit at $7000.00. installed by a dealer 3 weeks ago and it hasn't worked since install. Same size unit as the old one, but the manufacturer says that the house needs to be modified with bigger duct work. The old one worked great, the new one doesn't, it's the same size so let's lie to the owner about selling junk and not fix the problem. If this company has no more common sense than that, they need to close their doors and go out of business.
Most online reviews of the YCJF air conditioner on HVAC forums are positive. There are several posts where consumers ask for comparisons between units. Most comments on these posts have good things to say about the YCJF, and a professional member on hvac-talk.com states that York A/C products are very good, with units often lasting over 30 years.
