"Very disappointed"

Our unit is not even 5 years old. It went out. The compressor lead wires were strapped to the copper in the unit, and the vibration of the unit caused the wires to rub through the very thin foam piece and rub the copper. This caused a short and a hole in the copper, and now we have an $1100 bill to repair the mess. All they would have had to do was use a thicker layer of foam or simply not strap the wires to the copper! This seems to me to be a major design flaw. It would have cost pennies (or even less) to prevent this from happening. In addition, I had asked the salesman if I could purchase filters for the unit anywhere. He told me yes. I then of course found out after I had it installed, that I had to purchase very expensive York filters only and could not buy them from anyone else.

"Total HVAC installation"

PSE&G staff is fantastic at putting you at ease once you have been previously taken advantage of. Needed to replace an entire Trane unit that was only 8 years old and still under warranty. Previous contractor had over sized the unit grossly, which lead to disaster. The York unit works so efficiently and the home is much more comfortable. The staff is highly knowledgeable about the process and the product. As a public utility they have only one goal: systems that work in the community, not over-selling.

"York central AC unit concern"

I just wanted people to know that according to Consumer Reports, the York brand central AC units had the most repairs out of 9 brands. I am hoping that our new York will be okay. We used our utility company as the installer because they offer protection plans and have provided good service and coverage on major repairs, but we were disappointed that they only offered the York brand.

Know the brand but the main reason I purchased it was the dealer. I have dealt with them before and trust their recommendation and service
