Corporate History
In 1962 Worcester Engineering was founded to develop domestic oil-fired boilers. In 1987 the company was renamed Worcester Heat Systems to reflect its growth and acquisitions. In 1992, the company was acquired by the Bosch Group. The company is now known as Worcester-Bosch, and has manufacturing facilities in Worcester and Clay Cross in Derbyshire, UK, and a Training Academy in Worcester, UK.
Product Lines
The company’s boilers, gas and oil-fired, are sold under the Greenstar brand name. These include internal, external, floor standing and wall mount units, as well as combi boilers and compact units that can fit inside a kitchen cupboard. All Worcester boilers run at 90 percent efficiency or higher, which for many translates to an Energy Savings Trust (EST) seal of approval. Many of the company’s boilers can integrate with solar panels.
Warranty
Worchester-Bosch offers a 2 year standard warranty on parts for most of its boilers. Gas-fired boilers feature a 10-year primary heat exchanger warranty, while oil-fired boilers are covered by a 5-year primary heat exchanger warranty and a 10-year secondary heat exchanger warranty. The company offers extended warranties as well.
