The Westinghouse Combi is a modulating condensing gas boiler that combines space heating with an option for domestic hot water capabilities. It is Energy Star qualified and includes the Combi Floor, which is floor mounted and has an efficiency of up to 93.2% AFUE, and the Combi Wall, a wall mounted model with an efficiency of up to 95% AFUE. The unit features a stainless steel fire tube heat exchanger for increased efficiency and a ceramic fiber burner which offers high combustion efficiency and low NOx emissions. Safety features of the Combi boiler include a dual stage anti-freezing mechanism and a gas leak detector which turns the unit off and activates an alarm in the event of a gas leak.
I loved this boiler that I've had for the past year now! This is a high efficiency boiler, which provides 140,000 BTUs for heating my large house. I keep my house at a toasty 70 degrees in the winter, and this high efficiency boiler does not disappoint. I have never had to have it replaced, and Home Depot was able to install it in my house. Because of this wonderful water boiler, my heat expenses overall are lower than previous winters. I also feel that it is helping the environment, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions because it is using a mesh burner, which apparently reduces nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide. More importantly, it is smaller than I expected and fits perfectly into my house. I would highly recommend this boiler!

I've had this unit online since July 2015. Excellent tech support for item when I needed it. Must be installed properly so follow directions closely. No problems at all so far. Westinghouse is a legit brand!

"Review of my Home Boiler Unit"

Very Satisfied
We purchased our house about a year and a half ago and this particular Westinghouse brand boiler was already installed. I am not sure how long the boiler had been in the house before we bought it as the house is about twenty years old. So, we have used or owned this boiler for over a year and so far we like it a lot. We like that it does a good job heating our two story house as we know a lot of people that have problems keeping a larger home warm. We have had no issues so far with it, so we don't dislike it as of now. We have not had to replace it or do any work to it. Yes, I would have no problem recommending this to a friend and if we continue to have success with it, would buy the same unit again when the time comes.

"Terrible Unit, Don't recommend"

Very Unsatisfied
I've owned this boiler for about five years and have had nothing but trouble out of it. It doesn't provide hot water like it should although I have had several techs come out and look it over. They can't figure out why it's not working. It also randomly shuts off and makes humming noises then turns on and runs normal. Each tech that has done a thorough look at the unit can't figure out why it's having these issues. One tech suggested just replacing the entire unit since it seems to be a defective unit. I called the company and although I paid for the extended warranty (ten years) they refuse to replace it. They claim it's something I have done to the unit! So now I'm out almost three grand for a unit that doesn't work properly! I absolutely do not recommend this brand to anyone. I also will not be purchasing from this company ever again.
Among the very few online comments regarding the Westinghouse Combi boiler in HVAC forums is one on heatinghelp.com from a homeowner wondering if using his Combi in a closed system will void the warranty. There’s a lot of confusion about this, with no clear answer from the several responses.
