Corporate History
Toshiba was founded as Tanaka Engineering Works in Tokyo, Japan in 1875. In 1939 the company merged with Tokyo Electric Company to form Tokyo Shibaura Denki, and in 1984 the company known by the abbreviated name Toshiba. Today Toshiba products are available throughout the world, and the company employs over 200,000 people worldwide.
In 2015 Toshiba and Carrier began producing HVAC products together in India, Europe and North America. Heat pumps and air conditioners are now available under the name Toshiba Carrier.
Product Lines
Toshiba Carrier heat pumps are available in two units, the RASEV and the RASE2. Both feature efficiencies of up to 23.0 SEER and up to 10.0 HSPF, with sound levels as low as 47 decibels.
There is one Toshiba Carrier air conditioner, the RASEA, which has an efficiency of up to 23.0 SEER and sound levels as low as 47 decibels. There are two Toshiba Carrier high wall indoor units, which both feature sound levels as low as 26 decibels.
Warranty
Toshiba Carrier heat pumps and air conditioners feature a 10-year parts and 10-year compressor warranty to the original owner if registered within 90 days of installation. If not registered, the parts warranty becomes 5 years.
