Elderly uncle snookered into accepting this as a substitute for a furnace recommended to him. Much noisier than old furnace, but heated ok. But only for about thirteen months. Purge blower went out. Tech said it’s not covered by warranty. Replacement set Uncle back $890. Fast forward fourteen months. Late one cold Friday night, I have just come from his house after finding the purge blower seized up, again. It has an OEM part number with no crosses, but I will try to find a replacement part or a dealer who will warranty their work on one of these. Maybe a part that will last more than a year. It might be cheaper to replace this unreliable furnace.

"Not Feeling Good About This Thing"
1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied
Bought this thing about three months ago (Aug 2011) and spent $3600. October 28, 2011 furnace was not working. Needed new control board and service tech brought a new one, which also failed out of the box. Second one fixed the problem……UNTIL This morning 12/10/11 when furnace once again was not working. Checked my circuit box and breaker was tripped. Reset the breaker, but furnace still did not start. Service tech said the transformer blew, but did not know why, but has decided that the control board caused it. On his way to get yet another new control board. I told him to bring two! Not feeling very good about this purchase, even though I keep hearing how good they are. I think I got a lemon and intend to ask for a replacement as we have no confidence in the piece of crap we now have in our basement. You expect some problems with a furnace that is 10 years old and older, but a brand new one? Saw a review from a lady who has a new one and claims to be very satisfied even though she has had two service calls during the first year. Wonder how she will feel at the end of the year when the service part of the warranty expires? Two service calls in the first year is never a good sign. There are lemon laws for cars, do they have them for furnaces?
