Corporate History
Smith Cast Iron Boilers has its origins in the 1853 opening of a foundry in Westfield, Mass., specializing in iron castings. The foundry owners, brothers Henry and Edwin Smith, later worked with John Mills to create the Mills Boiler. Shortly thereafter the H.B. Smith Co. Inc. was formed. Mestek Inc. has distributed the Smith line of residential, commercial and institutional cast iron boilers since 1990.
