The Slant/Fin Sentry is a gas hot water boiler with an efficiency of 84.4% AFUE. The unit’s thermal targeting technology is designed to save on fuel by monitoring heat demand. A thermal pre-purge option is also designed to conserve fuel. The unit features a display which shows the boiler water temperature and boiler control’s setting, and LED lights help monitor the system. The Sentry’s insulated jacket is designed to prevent heat loss and provide quiet operation.
I purchased a Sentry S-90EDP for the small, 2-bedroom home I refurbished about a year ago. So far, it hasn't given me any problems whatsoever. The output is fairly low (at plus or minus 66,000 BTU – as advertised), but it falls easily within the range of what's needed for a single bathroom home. Alternatives to this model were easily twice as much, so my decision was an easy one. Being a comparatively smaller unit as well, transport and installation were much easier. I highly recommend it as a cheaper, more efficient alternative to larger units. I haven't had to make any repairs as of yet, nor have I had any issues with it shutting off or not providing enough hot water (which can be an issue with smaller units, on occasion). Do haggle on the price though, as I've noticed big discrepancies from store to store. If you can get it shipped to your home free of charge (as I did), that's a huge additional benefit.
"Slantfin Natural Gas Boiler Review"
I would highly recommend this boiler to any friends or family needing an exceptional product without a dent in their pocket book. I did a lot of research with my husband before purchasing this product after we could tell our previous boiler was not living up to our standards anymore. We have had it for over 3 years now with no problems at all. The only thing I can complain about is the heaviness of the boiler-that sucker is heavy! The product is durable, incredibly easy to use, includes a lot of features and was easy for my husband to install. He went on and on about the simplicity of it and how easy the instructions were for him and his buddy to follow. Like I said, we have had it for a little over 3 years now with nothing to complain about and I'm sure time will only work in its favor! We are happy customers and recommend this to all!

"Keeps our home warm and cozy!"
We have recently upgraded our boiler to the Sentry S-120-EDP model, around July of this year, 2015. We have found it to be extremely efficient and very cost effective, as we have seen a notable drop in our utility bill. The boiler, while it looks plain and simple, actually provides our 2 story home with a lot of warmth, which is nice this time of year in upstate New York where it has already gotten chilly, especially in the evening. Currently we have no dislikes about this particular model, as it certainly gets the job done. I would most definitely recommend this boiler to a friend, as you seem to get a nice quality from the system. Also, the boiler was a little bit over 1,200 dollars when we had purchased it on sale, which quite frankly is a great price when it comes to getting a boiler. It did not take long for our plumber to switch the boilers out, either, as setup seemed to be quite flawless.

"Boiler works as well as can be expected"
I've owned the boiler for two years. It hasn't broken down so I haven't had to interact with it at all. The boiler is boring in a good way, it keeps working. The boiler is quiet and out of the way, at the end of the day the boiler does what it's supposed to do. Costs are down, boilers are up. It's not exciting in any way, but does a boiler need to be exciting? The most exciting thing that can happen to a boiler is it breaks down, and that would just suck. If a boiler is exciting you need to get a new boiler. And when you get a new boiler, why not get the Slant Fin Sentry line? I found myself somewhat satisfied with the experience of owning this boiler, which didn't break. I would recommend this to a friend, if that friend needed a boiler that worked okay all the time.

"So far so good."
I have owned this boiler for three months now which isn't long but it is the best boiler I have ever used. As a landlord, I've had experience with many different boilers and by far this is the best one yet. It is small yet very efficient while still maintaining a reasonable price. There is nothing to not like so far about this boiler since I am in the very early stages of ownership. If I had to choose a problem that I have with this boiler it would be the price, it could be a little lower because everyone wants to save money, right? Besides that, the boiler is perfect. There have been no issues with this boiler, either, so I have never had to make any repairs. If this keeps up, I'll be putting this boiler into all of the homes that I rent and I will be recommending this to anyone that I know looking for a boiler.
Based on comments from online HVAC forums, the Sentry is regarded as a good unit. Consumers on terrylove.com and doityourself.com had problems with their Sentry boilers not heating correctly that were both determined to be caused by a circulator and not the unit itself.
