The Slant/Fin Sentry is a gas hot water boiler with an efficiency of 84.4% AFUE. The unit’s thermal targeting technology is designed to save on fuel by monitoring heat demand. A thermal pre-purge option is also designed to conserve fuel. The unit features a display which shows the boiler water temperature and boiler control’s setting, and LED lights help monitor the system. The Sentry’s insulated jacket is designed to prevent heat loss and provide quiet operation.
I've owned my new Sentry Slant-Fin natural gas boiler for about three or four months now, and I have to say, I love it! The warehouse I purchased it from through in free delivery and installation with my order, but from what I saw it was rather easy to hook up. It's quite a bit smaller than my previous boiler, but doesn't sacrifice any of the efficiency. My home is roughly 2,500 square feet, with a basement and upper-level. The boiler is located in the basement, naturally, but heats the entire house without any issues. My utility bill has reduced a bit since installing it, which is definitely helpful in this economy. I would have no issues with purchasing the boiler again. The only problem I have with it is that it seemed to be a tad bit expensive for the BTU, but, as stated, it heats my home effectively and easily. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a house around 3,000 square feet or smaller.

Have had this boiler for over 9 months. Was easy to install and hasn't required any adjustments which is nice because the area is quite tight where the original was located. It was about half the size of the previous one. Supplies plenty for our 2200 square foot home. Do not yet have any complaints. Replaced it by recommendation of a contractor whom suggested this brand, would definitely recommend to anyone with a home around 2000 square feet. Our energy bill seemed to go down around 5% as well, which over time should pay for itself.

I've had my boiler about six months ago. I bought it on sale and saved myself almost $300. I had previously owned a different name brand a few years ago and this one had great reviews, so I decided to make the purchase. It stated on the fact sheet how much coverage it would take care of, and that's the main selling point that sold me. I really like the coverage of heat that it provides. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance. I know sometimes we read reviews and they don't help, but this time it really paid off. The only thing I dislike is that it's more expensive to run than my last boiler. I haven't really figured out why, because my previous boiler was larger than this one. But, it's been well worth the small amount of extra money it has cost me because of the great performance it has shown me. But, so far I've honestly had no issues with it and I'm glad I made the decision to purchase it. I would definitely buy the same brand if I had a chance to do it again. I recommended this same product to a friend and he is also very pleased with his Sentry boiler. If you're looking fr a great boiler, this is it!

"Good Boiler for the Price"

I've had this boiler since the beginning of 2014. I really liked how easy it was to set up, it's surprisingly light compared to other boilers I was looking at. I live in a 1000 square foot house, and sometimes it takes a little longer than I like for the heat to get going, but overall I've been satisfied with this product. Over the past year and a half, I haven't had to make any repairs on it, so that's a good sign. I would definitely recommend this to a friend as a relatively good value for the price. In my opinion, Sentry is a good brand.

I've owned this boiler for about three months now and it works well. I needed a replacement for an old unit in a house I recently purchased and this one seemed reasonably priced and had decent reviews. I didn't handle the installation myself, but it seemed to go in without much hassle. It did seem to be difficult for my contractor to move, but maybe that's normal for boilers of this size. I love that it uses natural gas as the fuel, as my bills have been very low and the heat is very easy to control. Obviously I haven't been using it a very long time, but hopefully it will not need any repairs in the near future. I would definitely recommend the Slant-Fin brand to a friend or family member. I had heard good things about the Sentry units by Slant-Fin and can only continue passing on the good name.
Based on comments from online HVAC forums, the Sentry is regarded as a good unit. Consumers on terrylove.com and doityourself.com had problems with their Sentry boilers not heating correctly that were both determined to be caused by a circulator and not the unit itself.
