Horrible….warranty is a joke and half. We purchased ours in March of 2009. We didn't use it at all the 1st year as we had to wait to have someone install well. In 2013 we had numerous leaks in the bottom. Called them, they voided our warranty even though we had our water tested every year and put in the suggested chemicals. They said because we didn't have it tested in season for beginning of 2009 the warranty was void, even though I explained we hadn't used it at that time. When the welder came out to fix the bottom he lightly brushed it to clean it up and we ended up with 6 holes and discovered the bottom is so thin, it's really sad. I would never recommend a Shaver nor would I ever buy one again. We spent over $5000 of our hard earned $$ and bought junk and can't afford to go purchase another. They should have to buy all of them back with interest and allow us to go purchase a real stove.

"Shaver Pro Series 165, biggest pile of scrap iron"

I bought this boiler brand new in 2010. By the end of the 2014 heating season it was leaking so bad I was adding water daily to get through. I have used the recommended rust inhibitor yearly in this boiler, and like everyone else says, their boasted warranty is a joke. You wont even get anyone to answer the phone. I had a distributor give me the owner's cell phone numbers and they wont even answer them. He told me good luck, he does not sell their stoves anymore because of no customer service and they won't stand behind them. Do not buy anything from these people, they need to be put out of business.

If you buy a Shaver furnace after you are warned…it's your own fault.

I purchased my Shaver wood stove in 2011. I did not use it until the winter of 2012 when I was able to get everything hooked up, which was a nightmare. The local dealer around the Jefferson City, Missouri area did not install, and of course he informed me that any heating guy can hook it up. That was a lie. We used the unit in the winter of 2012 and had two pumps and a thermostat go out. I used the recommended additives. We did not use the unit during the winter of 2013 due to buying a new electric furnace; I needed to see what the electric bill would run when I am unable to cut wood in the future. The Shaver unit was drained during this time period. We fired the unit up for the winter of 2014 and again followed the recommended guidelines for the additives and the unit has three small leaks in the bottom. I have attempted multiple times to contact Shaver with no luck or any return phone calls. I am planning to have the unit fixed this summer and sue for the expenses in small claims court in Missouri. I will not purchase another Shaver furnace in my entire life. I would recommend anyone looking at a wood furnace to look anywhere but Shaver. As you can tell by reading the postings there are several comments similar to mine. Good luck. Scott

"Horrible service"

I have had this Shaver furnace for about 5 years. I took care of it like a baby and have had to replace the poorly constructed pipes, pump, and blower. The door does not seal properly and I had to reconstruct that. The design is just simply poor. I called when I first started having trouble and all I was able to get were voice messages and no call backs. It seems like every time I turn around, something is not working on the furnace. I always call the company and leave a message, but no one ever calls back so I end up calling a local plumber or electrician to fix it. I hope this can help someone who is contemplating buying a Shaver. My father and father-in-law both have Central Boilers and they seem to work very well.
