The Rheem 14AJM is a single-stage, Energy Star rated air conditioner with an efficiency of up to 16.5 SEER. It uses a scroll compressor and a psc fan motor designed for low-speed, quiet operation. The unit’s condenser coils are constructed with copper tubing and enhanced aluminum fins. A steel cabinet with painted finish is corrosion-resistant and protects against the elements. The 14AJM uses R-410A refrigerant.
They put a new unit in the old unit was better the motor stopped after 14 months they charged me $250 now it only throws warm air and they are going to charge me again Service star installed it they are all bs
Rheem does not stand by its product. The inside compressor completely rusted and deteriorated in less than 5 years. The unit collapsed on itself. Rheem would't even send out a local representative to inspect. They called it "environmental conditions." Our Trane units lasted 12 years without problems. Rheem was a huge mistake and an expensive lesson.
My unit is 46 months old. Laying out $425- with a discount- to replace the coil purchase was based on installer recommendation. Told them to not sell product it's defective. Rheem needs to cover all costs if you trust your product will not recommend Air Around the Clock or Rheem to anyone.

"Very poor reliability"
I had this model installed in June 2012. Installation was about $6000. The condenser fan failed in July 2015. Replacement cost $280. The replacement unit failed has just failed (March 2017), so I estimate another charge of $280 for another fan. This is not acceptable since most a/c units run effectively for at least 12 years. Over the life of this Rheem unit, I will have incurred nearly $1500 for replacement parts. In addition to the fan problems, I will state that the water drainage design is absolutely HORRIBLE. Like everyone else here, I urge everyone to avoid this model. The Trane that I had prior to this nightmare had lasted 16 years.
"Rheem air handler problems"
I have a 14ajm19a01 condensing unit with a rhbp17j06s-h1 air handler that was installed in August 2013. In 2014 I had to replace the motor and computer board on the air handler. Just had to replace them again today. When I bought the unit from a Rheem dealer I purchased a ten year extended labor agreement. When I called the dealer for repair it refused to honor the labor agreement. After a number of calls and contacting BBB it agreed to honor labor agreement but ended up charging me double the agreements deductible. Poor parts from Rheem and worse service from one of its dealers. Would not deal with this dealer again and would not buy another Rheem.
Among the few online reviews of the 14AJM, a reviewer on hvac-talk.com referred to the unit as a low-end, no frills unit but said it was not bad for the price. In a discussion on hvac-talk.com comparing the 14AJM and a similar Trane unit, one reviewer stated that the Rheem unit was much quieter than the Trane.
