The Rheem 13AJN is a single-stage air conditioner with an efficiency of up to 14.5 SEER. It features condenser coils constructed of copper tubing and enhanced aluminum fins, and a grille/motor mount helps lower fan operation noise and keep sound levels as low as 72 decibels. An easily accessible control box helps contractors make adjustments without turning off the whole unit. The unit is protected from the elements by a painted metal cabinet rated to withstand a 1,000 hour salt spray test.
Do not buy anything from this company. The product does not last longer than 2 years; then you start paying and replacing.
"Works well when it works…."
Works great when it works. Unit is just over 2 years old, and already we've replaced a defective control board. The new replacement board that came in from Rheem was wired backwards (manufacturing error). The coil iced up twice before having to be replaced; two days after the coil was replaced, the compressor outside shorted and tripped the breaker and the home breaker. Replacement compressor unit from Rheem still has not arrived so we're sitting in a hot condo with no A/C in South Florida. Fortunately I purchased the 10-year labor warranty, so no cost yet out of my pocket (except for countless Freon refills at $40/pound. So I am counting on many service calls in the next 8 years. Geesh….

This unit was made in Mexico in 2012. Installation on a 2800 square foot home killed the unit before its 5th year of life. Don't waste your money.
"Shame on Rheem"
FYI: I'm not a rep! Less than a year after installation the defective coil had to be replaced. 3/17 15: coil replaced. 11/13/15: coil replaced. Now 7/17/15, we need a new coil! Of course the coolant has to be replaced each time. Because we are here less than six months a year, we really don't know how long a coil lasts. It makes me furious to see so- called reviews claiming other manufacture reps are writing fake reviews. Rheem might have manufactured better central air units in the past, but we know that they are very aware of the problems with the defective coils now but will do nothing! What happens after the warranty expires? Unfortunately from other reviews, we will not like the answer.

I bought this unit in October 2013 at Home Depot. They told me it was the best, but so far there hasn't been proof that it's any good. It's been having problems since day one, the installers keep coming and the piece of crap is always breaking. Never has given me good service and now after only 2 years in use it has finally broken down completely. I will never use this brand again, very disappointed.
Most comments from online forums refer to the Rheem 13AJN as a very basic unit. A professional on hvac-talk.com referred to the 13AJN as a builder unit, meaning a bare bones, cheap model. A reviewer on gardenweb.com repeated basically the same thing, saying the 13AJN is as basic as they come.
The warranty for the Rheem 13AJN air conditioner is comprised of the following:
10-year conditional parts warranty
Labor costs are not covered by the warranty.
