Corporate History
Potterton company was founded in 1850 in Ballam, London by Thomas Potterton, who set up office as a general contractor. The company completed the first gas boiler installation in 1902, and in 1908 Potterton completed the first ever multiple installation of gas boilers. Potterton produced its one millionth boiler in 1969, and today has manufactured over seven million boilers in the UK.
Product Lines
Potterton’s Promax line of gas boilers are available in several series: Promax Combi and Promax Ultra-Combi, which provide both heat and domestic hot water; Promax System, which is fully modulating; Promax SL heat, which is smaller and also modulating; and Promax Store, an integrated hot water storage and central heating boiler designed to fit in a standard airing cupboard.

Potterton’s products come with company-backed warranty which varies depending on the product, although most come with a 2-year warranty on parts and labor.
A range of break-down plans are available to help negotiate repair work and after sales service. Extended warranty options with a monthly fee are also available after the free warranty period ends.
