Corporate History
In 1928 Earle C. Reed established two manufacturing companies, the Utica Companies and the Dunkirk Radiator Corporation. Over time these companies acquired other heating and cooling companies, including Pennco, which Dunkirk purchased in 1998. In 1999, Dunkirk and Utica merged to form ECR International, “ECR” referring to the initials of founder Earle C. Reed.
In 2008 ECR built a 25,000 square foot stamping plant with new manufacturing equipment at the Dunkirk facility and expanded the Utica faciliity by 30,000 square feet.
Product Lines
Pennco manufactures four residential gas boilers. The most efficient of these is the P90, an Energy Star qualified condensing unit with a cast aluminum heat exchanger and an efficiency of 90% AFUE. The company also manufactures two residential oil boilers, the Keystone Water Series II and the Keystone Steam KSC IV Series, which both feature cast iron heat exchangers.
Warranty
Pennco’s P90 condensing boiler is covered by a 15-year heat exchanger warranty, pro-rated after the 10th year, and a 1-year warranty on other components.
The Keystone Steam KSC IV boiler has a 10-year heat exchanger warranty and a 1-year warranty on other components.
Cast iron residential water boilers have a 20-year heat exchanger warranty, pro-rated after the 10th year, and a 1-year warranty on other components.
