The Peerless MI Series consists of seven packaged hot water boilers offering up to 80.2 percent AFUE. These cast iron boilers are designed for natural draft use with a conventional chimney, and feature a low-profile design for installation in low clearance areas such as garages, closets or attics.
Models in this series have a heating capacity ranging from 58 to 211 MBH and are available in either natural or LP gas. Additional components of the MI Series include a Taco circulator, a flame rollout safety shutoff switch, and a vent safety shutoff switch, and the option of either a standing pilot or intermittent ignition.
In addition, standard Honeywell controls are included with the goal of making maintenance for this unit easier for contractors and less expensive for homeowners.
"My Boiler is Efficient and Heats My House Adequately"
I am very satisfied with my boiler. I have owned this particular boiler for about 8 years and it has never caused any problems. I like how it quickly heats the house and never gives me any problems. It rarely makes any noise and I forget that it even exists in my basement. I can quickly change the temperature of the house and make sure that my family is never cold during the long winters we experience. I have never had any problems so I have no dislikes about it. It has never needed to be repaired but it has received routine maintenance. It is extremely reliable and I trust its abilities completely. I would absolutely buy the same brand again and I have already recommended it to my friends. A few friends have already made the switch to the same brand and they agree that it is definitely worth every penny.
"Long lasting boiler"
I am very happy with my boiler. I had it since I moved which has been 12 years already. It's simple to use because I have updated the controller to the boiler. I simply set the timer, which days I want it heat up, and when it turns off. Even though it's been 12 years, it's still up to date per wise for boilers. If I'm unsatisfied with the room temperature, I can temporary set the temperature to take care of the cold problem. Although it's a great boiler it sometimes can take a bit for the water in the shower to heat up again if used long enough. It isn't meant for a large family if their shower times are close together, and be sure to set it in a room no wind blowing in. The switch to the boiler can easily switch off which I don't like trying to turn back on. It's a hassle but it shouldn't be a problem if planned ahead accordingly. Overall it's a fantastic boiler, and I'm very satisfied with the heat it has provided me all these years and more.
"Peerless Boiler Pricey but worth a shot"
I've owned the Peerless MI-09 for about 3 months now and It has definitely met my expectations. It's a little pricey, but as they say you get what you pay for. The best thing about this boiler is it's reliability. Built sturdy and made to last. What I don't like about it is that is requires a pump, expansion tank, purger and pressure reducing valve.. all which must be purchased separately. And shipping can add up if you have to get them separately. Overall, it is worth getting.
"Garbage boiler, garbage company"
I had a Peerless installed in late 2011. It seemed to work fine for the first winter, but in 2012 I noticed dampness underneath it. This dampness continued until November, 2014, when the dampness became a flood of water. Peerless has a warranty right? It's not worth anything as far as I can see. They will compensate me for the block, about 20% of the original boiler cost and I have to pay for shipping and the cost of install. Or they will give me a credit towards another Peerless boiler? Otherwise I get nothing. They acknowledge it is faulty but hey, what the hell.
I've got to believe that the majority of complaints on this site are the result of bad installation / application. Having specified and personally installed just about every brand of Boiler listed on this site, I am a huge fan of Peerless! Putting a "Super, high efficiency yada yada yada…" boiler in an ordinarily constructed older home is just asking for trouble! When a consumer picks a heating system on efficiency alone and garners technical expertise from google well… There you have it. application & installation rule!!!
