"Compressor Bad After Using One Winter"

1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied

Bought Mr. Slim in June of 2012. $6500 used winter of 12-13. Went to use it last week and it didn't work. Was told the compressor went out. It's under warranty but labor and shipping will cost us $900?? We don't feel we should be out anything for a bad compressor that's only a year and a half old and used just one winter. Plus, it's getting cold and we were told it can take up to 10 days to get here! Will not be buying another!

I've had the Mitsu fe12na for two years now, and am fairly impressed with it. It replaces my old wall heaters quite well. I find it interesting reading some of the reviews complaining about lack of heat at low temps. Mine puts out good heat even down in the low teens. If these reviewers had bothered to read the literature, they would see that there is a significant drop off in efficiency when you drop below say 15 degrees ( and the hyper heat kicks in ). I've had no service issues to date, but I do have a couple of complaints. First, the unit tends to ice up the base drainage tray when the temps are below freezing (and humidity is high), for several days in a row. It doesn't appear to impact the units operation. There is an optional base heater kit that is supposed to eliminate this issue. The other complaint is the fan on the outdoor unit is rather loud at times. I would guess that both of these issues are common to heat pumps to at least some degree. All in all very satisfied.

"Heat Pump Very Satisfactory"

5.0 rating
Very Satisfied

I have owned my heating pump for about a year now. I have yet to have any problems or dealt with any breakdowns. There have been no leaks or anything of that nature either. So far I love it and no complaints. Being that I have only had it for about a year, I have not had to repair it. I would definitely buy this brand again. Our last heat pump constantly had problems and my wife would always complain about it so I decided that I would try Mitsubishi because one of my friends recommended it and I can honestly say that I am more than satisfied. It did not make very much noise at all. Furthermore, it had wireless controllers. I would recommend to anyone interested. It required no ductwork and even ran better than some of the wall air-conditioners and that I've had in the past! Great buy!
