"Money Pit. It has cost way more than it will save."

I had a Mitsubishi multizone system installed, one 36k BTU outdoor unit with 2 heads indoors. The "diamond" installer initially attached the unit to the exterior wall and it shook the entire wall droning through the entire house. They charged me $900 to move it to a concrete pad. Now 2 years after the initial install the compressor has failed. It will cost an additional $1500 to fix it. So $2400 in the first 2 years of ownership. On top of the initial $10k install. My heating bills are 25% lower, but at that rate, my roi will be significantly longer than triple the life of the equipment.

"Horrible system"

We have owned a Mitsubishi split heat pump for three years. And we have had to, replace a motor twice. Both times it has taken over a week to receive the replacement motors. The motors are very expensive and take a ridiculously long time to get the parts. We wholeheartedly do not recommend Mitsubishi!

I am currently on my second Mitsubishi heat pump in 4 years. Mice destroyed my first one, they said it's my fault! Zero customer service and/or response and they do not respond to inquiries!

"Dont work!"

I am an hvac contractor of 28 years. When we bought our 10 year old custom built house, I thought I am going to put a really efficient heat pump in. So Mitsubshi actually gave me the best deal on equipment, so I went with them. Over $6,000.00 in just equipment. I installed all new duct work, nice Aprilaire touch screen stat, air cleaner, steam humidifier, whole house dehumidifier. Stat controlled everything. Sounds good right? Well wrong you are! The air handler will not cool house down when it's 90+ outside. It's actually 77 in here now,and it's set to 70. Reps have been here and first they blamed stat, removed and put Mitsubshi stats (2 different ones)von, nope didn't fix it. Then was air filter, changed it, still doesn't work! They are terrible to deal with and I'm a contractor who installs hundreds of thousands of dollars of this stuff every year! I just finished a 2 month job at a hospital with a total of 29 tons of cooling and total of 26 indoor units at a cost of over $250,000. That works perfect, but I can't install a simple 3.5 ton-residential system. Do the math here, mvz's are not a good match for residential retro fits. When we come to conclusion I will update this review, but currently don't waist your money! I would be getting sued if I would have put this in someone's house! Ductless units are great, they just can't get this one right!
