Midea is a manufacturer of home appliances, including air conditioners, heat pumps and water heaters. Midea is part of the Midea Group, which is headquartered in China and reported revenue of approximately $35.2 billion in 2017.
In 1968 Mr. He Xiangjian founded the company as a bottle lid manufacturer. The Midea name and logo was trademarked in 1981, and in 1985 the company began production of residential air conditioners. Today the company has over 100,000 employees and operates in more than 200 countries, with 21 production facilities worldwide. Midea Group is listed as a Fortune 500 company.
Midea offers lines of split and portable air conditioners, along with light commercial models. The split system air conditioners are also heat pump capable and available in three series: the Premier, with a cooling capacity of 9000-24000 Btu/h; Oasis, with a cooling capacity of 7000-36000 Btu/h; and Aurora, with a cooling capacity of 9000-30000 Btu/h. The inside units come in several designs and configurations, including High-Wall, Cassette, Console, and Floor Ceiling.
Midea markets both electric and natural gas tankless water heaters.
Until recently Midea also produced a line of gas furnaces with efficiencies ranging from 80% AFUE to 93% AFUE. The furnace line has been discontinued.
Midea provides a 5-year compressor warranty (excluding labor) and 2-year parts warranty (including labor) on split system air conditioners.
