Maytag PSH4BF Heat Pump Overview

The Maytag PSH4BF is a two-stage heat pump with an efficiency of up to 16 SEER and 9 HSPF. The Copeland Ultra Tech scroll compressor is protected by a control module which monitors the compressor and shuts down the system if harmful conditions are detected. A high pressure switch, low pressure control and field-installed filter drier also provide protection for the compressor. The unit features copper tube/aluminum fin coils for increased heat transfer, and a demand defrost which improves efficiency by defrosting only when necessary. A swept-wing fan blade and compressor sound blanket help keep sound levels as low as 75 decibels. The stainless steel cabinet has a silicone-protected polyester finish with 950 hour salt spray protection against rust and corrosion.

Maytag PSH4BF Heat Pump Reviews

"Don't buy a Maytag HVAC system"

1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied

Had my heat pump HVAC system installed in December, 2009. I looked forward to a decrease in utility bills with a new system. I saw no change in my bills and my system constantly breaks down and needs repair, especially when it gets really cold or hot outside. A few of my repairs were due to it leaking during summer heat which damaged my wood floor too. I've had internal panels completely replaced and I've already had the heat pump completely replaced. It has just failed again during a 90 degree heat wave. I expect I'll be forced to replace my system when the warranty runs out.

"Maytag Heat Pump was a very good choice"

I purchased a Maytag 16 seer Heat Pump system in the fall of 2010. I had several contractors to my home and received several estimates from them. What I found during this process is that all contractors are not the same! The company that I chose was very thorough and knowledgeable about his products. When I informed the other contractors of my decision to purchase the Maytag system, they all wanted to knock the Maytag system. Well let me tell you, I am completely satisfied with my Maytag system. I have learned from this experience that the choice of contractor is probably just as important, if not more so, than the product. Make sure you are comfortable with the company that you are spending your money with. I am a very happy Maytag Heat Pump owner, and would highly recommend this system!

My 16 seer Maytag Heat Pump is the best decision my wife and I have ever made!!!This unit is so quiet we have it located right next to our outdoor deck and can hardly hear it running. The only noise outside my wife and I hear is my neighbors noisy Trane unit. He was also impressed with our Maytag. This has also saved us a ton of money over the last three years we have lived in this house. I would absolutely recommend this equipment to anybody.
