The TM9 furnace is a member of the Luxaire mid-level product line, the LX Series. Units in the series have AFUE ratings up to 97 percent, and all stand at 33 inches high. The compact size of these units makes them suitable for installation in tight areas throughout the home.
With more than 20 models available, the TM9 series contains units with single-stage, two-stage, or modulating operation. Single-stage models feature a soft operating, air circulating fan motor, while two-stage models are equipped with a variable-speed ECM fan motor. Units with an ECM motor also feature Luxaire’s GeoTrak technology, a system designed to allow homeowners to adjust furnace settings to their specific climate.
All models feature an aluminized steel heat exchanger and external air filter, and are promoted for their quiet operation. Most models of the TM9 are Energy Star-approved.
Very happy with York/Luxaire and my contractor, SOS Heating.
"Service at its best"
I am very satisfied with the purchase of our new furnace, air conditioner and humidifier system. The first two systems are Luxaire and an Aprilaire humidifier. I am confident they will last as long as the system they are replacing (Trane) which is on its last leg after 27 years. But the main reason I selected these units was based solely on the recommendation of the contractor, Burke Mechanical. The salesperson, Joe Burke, came highly recommended from both family and friends. His reputation and his company’s made me feel at ease knowing I was going to spend a fair amount of money on a major update to our home. The install team worked very efficiently and did a great job in a short amount of time. So as of right now, I highly recommend Burke Mechanical and in six months, I am confident I can do the same on the systems being installed.

"Replaced a six-year-old Armstrong two stage under the Whirlpool brand."
Replaced a six-year-old Armstrong two stage furnace under the Whirlpool brand. I had to replace the ECM motor twice within three years. The operation of the furnace was very noisy as well! This spring we replaced it with a Luxaire TM9V08012MP11 two stage with an ECM variable speed motor. So far we have been very impressed with its performance and very quiet operation. My wife keeps asking me if the furnace is running. I would highly recommend this furnace to anyone who is looking for a replacement furnace. Make sure that the contractor that you choose is reliable, and knows the product! We had Reliable Mechanical in Brampton install our new furnace. They were very knowledgeable on the product, and did a excellent job of installing it. After they had finished, the technician went over the whole installation and operation of the equipment with us.

The furnace does a great job of heating the house in an efficient manner. However, the unit is noisier than my old 38-year-old furnace.
Although the TM9 has few reviews across the web, most reviews of Luxaire are positive. Homeowners on hvac-talk.com note these units' quiet operation, while contractors mention their quality performance. Contractors also praise the modulating model for offering seamless operation that does not require constant adjustment and heats effectively with minimal noise levels.
Furnace review sites such as webhvac.com and hvac-for-beginners.com also rate the Luxaire LX series well. A wide selection of premium and mid-tier units within the product line provides homeowners with a nice selection to choose the efficiency and home comfort suitable for their home. Good warranty support is another benefit mentioned for this unit.
Luxaire provides a lifetime limited warranty on the heat exchanger and a 10-year limited warranty for remaining parts for the TM9 furnace. All units must be registered within 90 days of installation to receive the full warranty terms.
