The Luxaire LP9C is a modulating multi-position gas furnace. The LP9C is Energy Star rated with an AFUE of up to 98%. The unit is compact, with a 33" tall cabinet, and designed for upflow, horizontal, or downflow installation with minimal conversion. It has an ECM variable speed motor with a large blower and an insulated cabinet for quiet operation, and a slide out blower assembly provides easy service access. Built-in self-diagnostics with a fault code display help with maintenance of the unit. The LP9C features a tubular aluminized steel primary heat exchanger and a stainless steel tube/aluminum fin secondary heat exchanger.
I purchased a top of the line Luxaire Furnace and a/c unit together. The furnace is the high efficiency, variable speed kind. One year after, I needed some work on the furnace. 7 years after, my A/C needed a new compressor and a two months after that, my furnace’s electronic motor burned out (runs the blower). The electronic motor was still under warranty, however, they are telling me the manufacturer does not have the part and they have to make one and it will be 45 to 90 days and I have to pay shipping to get the part to my distributor. Really, you cover the part, but I am responsible for getting the part to me? My sincere advice is to stay far away from a Luxaire or a York (same thing). These should not break down after 7 years and although they say the parts are covered under warranty, you still have to pay labor and apparently shipping to get the part to your installer. Not to mention you will be left for months without A/C or heat.

Very satisfied with the installation of this unit. It runs very quietly and maintains very even heat, even on the coldest days in Wisconsin.

"Worst furnace I have ever installed"

I’m writing this review on all LP9C Luxaire top of the line furnaces my company has installed. I had first gotten into this product line because a long time friend and expert in the HVAC industry was selling this brand. It has become the worst furnace I have ever installed! I have installed almost every brand in my 25 years of being in this business! I even installed one in my own home with great regret! I have had it for two heating seasons and had to replace two major parts. I’ve installed this furnace into 3 of my friends homes and even my mother-in-law’s house and I’ve had to replace major parts in all of them! It has become an embarrassment to me and my company! I have recently become a Bryant Dealer and absolutely love the brand and the quality of the product! Bryant actually stand strongly behind their product! I am looking forward to removing most of the Luxaire from my customers homes and replace them with Bryant Evolution Series!

My old heating system never had problems. I bought this for newness and the advertised Energy Efficiency. I do not think it adds much Energy Efficiency compared to before. The many breakdowns have been centered around the blower motor, circuit board, leaking pvc elbow, and gas valve. I purchased this jointly with an a/c system, and I note that the condensate pump broke down twice and there was also a noise incident that caused a visit and repair too. Stay away from this company and this product! I contacted them and they led me on to believe they would come out to look at the machine and never did.
There are comments on both hvac-talk.com and diychatroom.com regarding units blowing cold air and the computer board flashing a code. In one case the installer set the board incorrectly. The other problem was unsolved, although most writers on the post felt it was caused by a faulty switch.
Online product registration is required within 90 days of installation for maximum warranty benefits. The Luxaire LP9C is covered by a lifetime heat exchanger warranty and a 10-year limited parts warranty. If not registered within 90 days of installation, the lifetime heat exchanger warranty reverts to a 20-year limited warranty and the 10-year parts warranty reverts to a 5-year limited warranty.
