There is no actual Knight boiler series. Instead, the Prestige is a line of four different series.
Knight boilers feature an efficiency of 95% AFUE and a condensing stainless steel heat exchanger, and include the Knight Wall Mount, which has 7 models and is an Energy Star 2016 Most Efficient product; the Knight Floor Standing, which has 5 models; The Knight Floor Standing Fire Tube, which has 6 models; and the Knight XL, designed for commercial use.
I work for a company that has installed many hundreds of these, maybe thousands. As with any high efficiency equipment, the start up and maintenance are critical. After reading some of these reviews, it is obvious many of these issues are due to the installers not following the manufacturer's procedures to dial in air and gas pressures and mixtures. Nearly every one of these problem boilers are due to an ignorant or just plain incompetent installer and/or service "technician". We have had great success with them. In eight years with this company, I have yet to hear one negative comment from a home owner about these boilers.

I have installed four of these machines after they were highly recommended by the plumbing supply company. The support is horrible, the customer service is horrible and the machines are garbage, from bad gas valves to bad circuit boards. Parts are expensive and hard to get. These machines will need to be replaced. I recommend staying far way from this company.

"Very unhappy customer"
Installed this boiler in the fall of 2012. I had some problems at first but got it working. It is now the start of the third heating season and I have had to replace the pump supplied by Lochinvar; the bearing went bad. Then the boiler failed to ignite. I changed the igniter and the wire to it, but it still would not start. Finally I was told that it was the control panel. I purchased a new control panel and the boiler went back to working. So far this season I have spent about $1400.00 on a three-year-old boiler to keep it working, none of which was under warranty. The boiler I removed was over twenty years old and the only repair I did on it was the thermocouple every couple of years. I've been a building contractor for over 45 years and have not had these kinds of problems with other boilers. I will not recommend a Lochinvar to any of my customers in the future. They have poor customer service and they do not stand behind their product.

I live in a 75 year old house in northern Wisconsin. The original boiler used 1000 gallons of oil a year and roared. I had the new one installed about 3 years ago and I love it. Not a single problem. Very quiet, efficient and the house is so much more comfortable.
