We had our new Lennox furnace installed just a few months ago since our old furnace was on its last leg. We were replacing a furnace that was original to our 1994 built home and was costing us a lot of money in propane to run. We love that the furnace is highly energy efficient, which saves us money on our propane bill and prevents us from having to refill our propane tank as often, which is a pain. I can’t think of anything that I dislike about this furnace. The installers were friendly and fast and were able to install the furnace in just a few hours. Since purchasing our new furnace, we haven’t had any issues that have needed repair. We have purchased Lennox systems before and would highly recommend them to our friends and family for their great reliability and high efficiency. We give our Lennox furnace five out of five stars!
"Lennox elite series furnace"
I purchased my home about 5 years ago. It had the Elite series Lennox furnace in it. In the past 5 years alone it had to be serviced at least 3 times due to not working, of course on the coldest of the Northeast winter days. Twice there was a sensor that had to be replaced, and once it was the actual computer module inside the furnace. Besides that the furnace does its job, but I definitely will be looking to replace it soon.
"Energy efficient gas furnace"
I have owned the furnace for about 10 years. It is 92.3 percent efficient. It has worked perfectly and has required very little maintenance. I would recommend this furnace to everybody.

"Too many problems"
This unit is way too noisy and unreliable. I had service people out ten times in three years. Will never buy Lennox again. We had the air conditioner replaced, and now looks like furnace may have to be replaced if they can’t figure out the problem.
"Noisy Blower Motor"
We bought the 135,000 btu model with staged blower motor. The heating quality is fine but the blower is noisy on starting up and shutting down. The technician who answered our complaint said that is due to the staging nature of the motor. My advice…..pay the extra $800 and get the variable speed motor. Maybe Lennox can add some sound deadening to the cabinet to silence this model. It is irritating.
An HVAC installer writes on the hvacsite.com forum about a problem with his personal Lennox Elite furnace. He is having trouble with the fan turning on and off properly; the experts at the forum agree that the problem is probably a faulty electrical board.
Another post on hvac-talk.com points out the fact that most HVAC forums highly recommend Lennox and Carrier products. Installers often say a homeowner cannot go wrong with these companies, and they should compare warranties, rebates, and tax credits to make a decision.
A writer on diychatroom.com has inherited a Lennox Elite furnace with the purchase of an existing home. He does not believe it has been serviced, and he is having problems with fan noise and the thermostat. The contractors online direct the homeowner to clean several parts on the furnace, and then see what happens. The post makes a good point about regular service check-ups.
