The Lennox GWM-IE is a wall-mounted, gas modulating condensing water boiler. It has an efficiency rating of up to 95% AFUE and earned the Energy Star Most Efficient 2014 label. The unit features an electronic ignition control which monitors water temperature and turns on the burner only when necessary, and its sealed combustion design is intended to reduce sound. The stainless steel, finned tube heat exchanger is self-cleaning, while the stainless steel mesh burner is corrosion resistant. A CPVC flue condensate collector offers protection against corrosion and leaking.
I have a few rental properties and a have installed the Lennox GWM-IE boiler in all three of them. So far I am extremely happy with the quality. I've had zero problems over the year that I've had them. All three are being used and they are all still in great working order. They are very good quality. When you rent out properties, people seem to use appliances harder than they would if they owned it. Which then is more money out of my pocket just because people wear them down faster. I have had to replace other brands more than I'd like to, so far these are holding up well which makes me very happy! As long as these continue to hold up, I would consider buying them again.
"I installed a high efficiency Lennox boiler one of my rentals homes."
I bought this particular Lennox GWM-IE high efficiency boiler for one of the rental homes that I own about 2 years ago. This particular home previously used a heat pump for heating during the winter months, and used an electric water heater. This Lennox boiler now provides heat and hot water to the entire 1500 square foot house. As a result, the electric bill has gone down substantially, and the gas bill remains low because of low natural gas prices right now. I love how quickly this machine works and how quiet it is during operation. Another great thing about this boiler is that the hot water does not tend to go out when multiple people are using it. This used to be a problem with the electric water heater. I have not heard any complaints so far about this Lennox model. It is still relatively new so that is to be expected, but I have no regrets about buying this high efficiency boiler. I would definitely buy it again and would recommend it to all my friends.

"My lennox boiler"
I have had my Lennox boiler for just over 6 months. I love the fact that it is very energy efficient and has caused our electric bill to fall which is saving us a lot of money each month. My one issue with the boiler is that I think it is a little loud, my wife disagrees with me on this. The boiler works great and with yearly maintenance should work for a very long time to come. I would and have recommended Lennox boilers to my friends and to my family who are in need of replacing or updating their current boiler. I have learned that if you buy quality products, and yes they might cost more, they will last longer and save you money in the long term. In the past I have bought cheaper items and they have cost more than buying the more expensive item that could have saved me money.
"Fairly happy with Lennox boiler"
I've owned the boiler for going on two years now. I like that it is quiet and efficient and it has reduced my heating bill compared to the previous boiler. I am a little disappointed that I'm not seeing the savings that I expected based on 1) the seller/installer and 2) experience of a friend who has the same model. I was told by the seller to expect 40% savings over my old model. I have seen savings but only at around <30%. That is good but I was expecting more and perhaps could have gotten those numbers from a less expensive brand or model. I have it in an unusual location (small closet near back door, a little drafty) that may be affecting this. I will say that it does look like a very solidly build unit compared to some I've seen so I get the feeling that the workmanship is good. It does provide all the hot water I need. My old boiler sometimes had a funny smell but the Lennox must be "unscented" because I don't smell a thing, ha.
"Best Residential Boiler on the Market Today!"
I have dealt with boiler systems since I was a child. My father owned one for the house I grew up and it did a great job at heating our home. So naturally when I gained the ability to make the choice of what type of system Id choose to heat my home it was obvious I would go with a boiler system. I have only owned one for myself for about 2 years now. So far in my 2200 square foot home this system has not done me wrong. I have had it for 2 winters now (1 of which was mild and one of which was quite chilly in terms of temperatures go). Prior to having this system I only had baseboard heaters which generally are not very efficient and are also a fire waiting to happen. We have since removed all of those and replaced our heating systems with the Lennox GWM-IE Boiler system. To me this has been a lifesaver as far as cost to heat my home goes. Its also very efficient. Best of all it is an energy start qualified system which gives you a bit of a rebate with your local power companies if you live in certain areas, as well as a possible tax break. I do not dislike anything about this boiler as of todays date. It did cost me a pretty little penny to get the system installed and up and running, but the benefits far outweigh the costs of the system. Lennox is a very trusted brand in my book, and prior to purchasing this boiler I did do quite extensive research into different brands to find out which one is most trusted. Lennox came out on top. They have been around for quite some time as an established and trusted company. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family if they are ever in need of a new heating system. I get this system 4.5/5.0 stars only because the price was a bit more than i would have liked to pay, not that it wasn't reasonable, but it was still quite a bit.
There are very few online reviews regarding the GWM-IE on HVAC forums. In reply to a consumer asking about the GWM-IE on hvac-talk.com, several professionals said they preferred other brands, with most mentioning a similar model by Weil-McLain. It was also mentioned repeatedly that installation matters more than the brand or model.
