The Lennox XC13 air conditioner is part of Lennox’s Elite series, one its higher end lines. This system uses the chlorofluorocarbon-free R410A refrigerant, which Lennox says meets the strictest EPA standards. The system is also Energy Star qualified and rated for efficiency up to 15.5 SEER. Lennox claims it can save owners between $325 and $1055 per 5 years when compared to units with between 10.0 and 13.00 SEER ratings. It is equipped with a high- efficiency outdoor coil, which Lennox says provides efficient heat transfer and low air resistance. This air conditioner also has a scroll compressor that the company says provides reliable, efficient functioning.
Junk. We purchased this unit from Horizon in 2013. In 2014 the compressor went and the entire unit needed to be replaced. In 2015 the compressor would not kick on initially and we needed a part to fix it. In 2016 the compressor went and the unit needs to be replaced again! 3 brand new units in less than 3 years is a disgrace! This company should be ashamed to manufacture such garbage!

All parts are warranted for five years, so expect parts to start failing right after that. So far, we have had a capacitor and the fan motor fail. On the capacitor, the wire post was actually detached from the rest of the unit due to poor initial quality. This is our third home, and we have never experienced this kind of difficulty with a condenser unit on any of our other properties, even though the mechanicals were much older. I will be disinclined to trust Lennox again.

Every aspect of the service we have received from House of Heat is outstanding. The equipment operates exactly as we were told that it would and every question we have regarding operation, etc. is addressed quickly and accurately. We replaced a 23 year old space pack system and we are impressed with the the advancement and quality of the equipment that House of Heat proposed and installed in our home. They engineered the system in such a way as to double the output in a quieter, more cost effective system. We are very pleased and thank the staff at House of Heat for the excellent service.

Wow. I suspected that Lennox made lemons, but wow, the comments here say that they make lemonade too. At one year old, a compressor and handler failure; and at 7 years old, two capacitor failures. Many $$$$$ to repair. Never had a problem with a Carrier (although no prize either).

"Failed after five years"

After replacing furnace and air conditioner five years ago our compressor on the air conditioner stopped working after being serviced. Although the repairs were covered under warranty it took a week to get the parts before the repair work was completed. I would not consider this brand in future purchases
Online feedback on the Lennox XC13 is generally positive. In this forum thread most posters say it is preferable to an Aire-Flow air-conditioning system.
In this thread, many posters say they prefer the XC13 over a Trane system, but the original poster decided to purchase a Trane system anyway.
XC13 Warranty
Lennox covers the XC13 with a 10-year limited warranty on the compressor and a 5-year limited warranty on other parts.
