The Endurance line of boilers is manufactured by Laars for residential applications. Endurance boilers are gas-fired and are either hydronic or a combination boiler/water heater. The boilers may be powered by natural or propane gas; there are six models in the Endurance line. Four models are hydronic boilers and two are the combination models. Laars is owned by the Bradford White Corporation.
We put this boiler in recommended by our plumber this thing is the biggest piece of junk, we have had to have so many repairs. They repair it and it doesn't last very long.
"Shame on me."
Never should have listened to the plumber! Immediate expensive repairs – blower, electronics, etc. expensive, non-warranted repairs… Manufacturer would no nothing to assist. Do yourself a favor… Listen to me, Do Not Do It! Do not buy it! Save yourself a lot of money and aggravation. Update: 2017-01-30 15 years, thousands of $$$ in repairs, finally bit the dust. Mixed emotions… Should have, would have, could have…. Never operated correctly. Manufacturer would not assist. Buying a new boiler. Spending lot's of money but know improvement in equipment (heat and hot water) and service will be found. Will sleep well at night.

I had this boiler installed 12 years ago. My problems were mainly with the circuit board and I am on the fifth one. The company replaced the first one, after that I was on my own at $300.00 each. The boiler "locks out" several times a year and I keep my fingers crossed as to whether it will restart. A friend installed the same boiler at the same time I did. He did not have control board problems, but various other problems. He replaced his a year ago. Three days ago my heat exchanger failed and I have glycol in my hot water. Ordered a Westinghouse 199 btu wall mount this morning, very high ratings, but we will see.

"I work on Heatmakers and Endurance"
I'm sorry that plumbers don't get much schooling on these units. I see that they don't know how to work on them. There are high limits, low limits, circulator limits, eco, operating limits and pressure switch, 1 for fan 1 for water. You have to stop and think what they do first.
"Faulty unit from day 1"
I am angry to have to replace what was the "best" type of water heater to heat my house and hot water. 7 years old, annual replacement parts, and the latest I was told to replace the pump and electrical computer that runs the system. Over $1800 to do so. I elected to pull the unit and buy a Navian tankless system. I am sick that there is no recourse for the Laars company to stand by their product. I will be writing them too.
