"Owner is cantankerous"
Stay away from this company! This company will not return phone calls when they know there is a warranty on their products and if you do get to talk to them about a problem, you will get the owner that is sell rebranded Takagi products. He is a very rude and quick-tempered person, No one should have to deal with a person that acts in this fashion. In my option stay away from Hydro Smart.
I have only 1 complaint, a boiler set a code and after going through troubleshooting and finding everything ok I couldn't reset code. It was after hours so couldn't call till the next day. Next day Since weather was bad couldn't get a tech on the phone, left name and number. Three hours later I called and said just tell me how to reset. Got connected with tech and had fixed in 5 seconds. I keep my 1000 sq ft shop at 60 degrees and it only costs about$20/month. I did build with 6" walls and insulated well. It's been -20 plus the wind chill and I only lost 15 degrees in 24 hrs. It has worked great!!!!! Thinking about installing a system in my house, it's only 1000 sq ft too. I could live with $40/month heating in Wisconsin. Although I believe the house will cost more because the wife likes it to be 75. Pellet stove does that well but costs about $600 per winter. Very satisfied up to this point. Hopefully will get many more years if service. Tim Oshkosh Wisconsin
"Poor Quality Service"
Would not recommend purchasing from this company. Very rude and not willing to assist in any technical fashion.
This micro boiler is only 3 years old, at the end of last year's heating season it was beginning to have problems with it, three weeks into this season it quit working. I call the company and talked to a technician who was very rude, I will not be buying any Hydro Smart products in the future.
"Horrible, don�t buy"
Our furnace is three years old and has broken down more than once a winter. Now we have a broken flow valve. Of course, not covered under warranty and they won't even ship it overnight at our expense. They say they don't have our part in stock when we called the company. Ridiculous, as it snowed here last night and we've been without heat for almost a week now! No idea when, or if we will get it running again. I would not recommend!
