Corporate History
HS Tarm Company was founded in the early 1900’s by Rasmus Sorensen. His son Han expanded the company to include wood stoves and central boilers, manufacturing his first boiler in 1927. It was his initials (H.S.) that were eventually incorporated into the company’s name and logo.
The company was sold to the British BAXI Group in 1993 and changed its name in 1999 to BAXI A/S. In 2009 the BAXI Group merged with DeDietrich Remeha and was renamed BDR Thermea. In 2010 the company was sold to Martin Sorenson, the grandson of the founder of HS Tarm.
For many years HS Tarm products were distributed in the United States by New Hampshire-based Tarm Biomass, but in 2016 the company began phasing out as the company’s distributor.
