Honeywell’s Corporate History
Honeywell traces its history back to 1885 (as it later acquired patents that date back to this year). The Honeywell Heating Specialty Company was founded in 1906, and renamed to Honeywell, Inc. in 1963. Honeywell owns companies in a wide variety of fields including HVAC and aerospace.
Replacement Furnace Mount Filters
Honeywell produces replacement furnace filters that are 4-inches thick, with a MERV rating of 10. Honeywell claims that their furnace mount filters are up to 40 times more efficient at removing airborne particles than a standard 1-inch paper filter. These filters need to be replaced once a year, rather than every six to 12 weeks as recommended for a standard 1-inch paper filter. These filters meet the American Lung Association® Health House® guidelines.
Return Grill Air Filters
The return grill air filters can be mounted in place of the standard 1-inch
air grills that are used in many houses to filter the air returned by a warm-air furnace or central air conditioner. Honeywell claims that these filters are up to 15 times more efficient than a standard 1-inch paper filter.
Where to buy Honeywell Air Filters
You can buy honeywell air filters from several online vendors as well as in
offline home improvement and department stores. 2-packs of replacement filters retail for anywhere from $50 – $80. 2-packs of return grill air filters range in price from $99 and $250.
Honeywell’s furnace-mount replacement filters come with a 5-year warranty.
