"Beware, unreliable, expensive to maintain but cheap for contractors."

This "Elite Fire Tube Combo" came installed with home purchased in July 2015. In Oct 2016 the 3 way valve had to be replaced. The warranty would have covered the part ($85.00) but did not cover the labor $475. I did not bother with warranty because the weather was cold and we needed a fast fix. A mere 5 months later in March 2018, the mixing valve ($168) had to be replaced. The labor for this was $263. I did call htp this time. The woman I spoke to was decidedly frosty and said that they would replace part if I could prove I was the original owner. I was asked to produce the occupancy permit from the town. Once again I paid out of pocket because of the cold weather but planned to file for reimbursement. You can't go without heat and hot water for very long in Maine in the winter. When part was replaced the plumber received another error message that the "mother board" needed to be replaced as well as another part. At this point I put the brakes on, did some research (including on this web site. My thanks to others who wrote in). It made no sense to put more money into a unreliable boiler with frequent and expensive repairs. I ended up replacing the HTP boiler with a Bosch boiler, which has great reviews. It may be a bargain for contractors but not for a home owner who wants reliable heat and hot water!

"Expensive Junk"

Brand new two years ago and hasn't worked right since day one. No company support. Warranty is poor. I live in Maine and of course the pos doesn't work. It has been worked on multiple times and still doesn't work. If you are thinking of buying anything htp then just give your money to the first person you meet on the street. It will be far less frustrating.

I've had nothing but issues. Flame goes out and error code 40 if both thermostat are on and someone takes a shower. To reset I need to power off manually the HTP. And then now I get error 11 my system condenses so much inside that it leaks water onto the floor / I live in Vancouver Canada. I lived into a brand new house with a newly installed HTP. I do not recommend HTP to anyone. They are the cheapest and you get what the builder paid for. Take this unit, don't resell it, just take it to a junkyard and get money for the metal money because its junk!! I've called their 1800 their USA office and pretty much told I'm left to myself and I have to call a plumber and pay for it. Their warranty is terrible. This call was done within the first 6 months of the htp warranty. If your like me having issues, look at buying a Lennox. Should be a class action lawsuit. My neighbors on my left and my right, their homes built by same builder with same htp eft Wall Combo are all having same issues. They just keep on resetting power button and can't afford to replace.

"Scalding Danger"

I have an eftc 199w. In terms of its' central heating functions, it seems to work fine after one year. The problem I'm having, and it's a serious safety issue, is that despite the dhw being set to 115' the temperature varies erratically. I've measured temperatures as high as 162'. I've been through three control boards, two mixing valves, flow meters, temperature sensors and endless hours diagnosing and sending of emails with HTP and basically being strung along. This is a very serious matter and HTP is trying to say that my issue is unique. I don't believe them since I've tried every conceivable option. And the odd thing is that the controller recognizes the fact that the temperature is way above where it should be because I've monitored it using the controller's monitor. I'd really appreciate any help with resolving this problem.

Thought I was buying the latest, greatest state of the art high efficiency furnace to replace my old oil boiler. Biggest mistake I ever made! In the past year the mother board has been replaced, a defective mixing valve. Totally unreliable and cannot trust it to keep running. The latest is this past Saturday night when the weather was in the single digits it quit on me again. Flashing e11? Called the plumber that I bought it from and he said they are having problems with almost every unit they sold. Buyer beware, if your looking for a new furnace don't waist your money because you will be sorry if you do!
