Haier sells three types of air conditioners: ductless systems, portable air conditioners and window units. If you live in a small space or have an attic or shed that gets warm in the summer, you might benefit from a ductless or portable air conditioner. A ductless air conditioner attaches directly to the wall and operates without having to install ductwork in your home.

Haier’s ductless air conditioners are divided into single-zone and multi-zone units. A single-zone air conditioner has enough power to cool one room. A multi-zone air conditioner can cool up to two rooms comfortably. Both run off of a single compressor located outside the home.

Haier air conditioner series and models

When searching for an air conditioner, it’s essential to understand not only the available models but what to expect in terms of pricing, warranties and reviews.

Haier has many options for home or business owners looking to cool up to 1,000 square feet. Most of Haier’s wall-mounted air conditioners operate with a mini split-system that requires nothing more than a quick installation.

When shopping for a new ductless air conditioner, consider the efficiency of the unit. Like larger air conditioners, the energy efficiency of a ductless system is measured by the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating. The higher the rating, the better the efficiency. Minimum SEER requirements – 13 in the Northwest and 14 in the South — depend on the regional climate where you live

Typically, the higher the efficiency, the higher the cost. When choosing an air conditioner, keep in mind that your energy savings may counteract the upfront cost. Haier’s ductless units start at 16 SEER and go up to 28 SEER. Many are also ENERGY STAR Qualified.

Single-zone ductless air conditioners

Haier’s single-zone ductless units include the Tempo Series and the Arctic Series.

Tempo Series

The Tempo Series is Haier’s most affordable ductless unit and uses electricity to connect its single compressor outside the home to the wall-mounted indoor unit. However, it also has the lowest efficiency at 16 SEER. Several models in this series run on between 9,000 and 24,000 BTUh. A Tempo Series unit could work in an area with a mild climate.

Two of the models, the 18TE and the 24TE, can connect to Wi-Fi for phone-operated control. The outdoor units range in size from 21 1/4 x 30 11/1 x 9 5/8 inches to 30 x 36 3/16 x 15 1/8 inches and have a net weight of between 58.4 and 112.5 pounds. Additionally, the indoor units range in size from 11 7/16 x 34 x 7 7/8 inches to 13 3/16 x 44 5/16 x 9 7/16 inches and have a net weight of between 19.9 and 30.9 pounds.

Arctic Series

The Arctic Series brings even more power and is the most energy-efficient single-zone air conditioner Haier offers, going up to 28 SEER. This electric unit could work for a region with more extreme weather. All three models in this series connect to Wi-Fi and have a cooling capacity of between 9,000 and 19,000 BTUh

The outdoor unit’s size is between 24 3/16 x 32 5/16 x 13 5/16 inches and 30 x 36 3/16 x 15 1/8 inches and has a net weight between 84.9 and 126.8 pounds.
