The Goodman GSZ14 is a high-efficiency heat pump with an efficiency rating of up to 15 SEER and 9.0 HSPF. A high-density foam compressor sound blanket, sound-control top and high-capacity muffler help to keep operating sound levels as low as 72 decibels. A copper tube/enhanced aluminum fin coil provides optimal heat transfer, and a factory-installed bi-flow liquid line filter drier protects the system from debris and moisture. Service valves with sweat connections, top and side access and easily accessible gauge ports provide quick and easy serviceability. A heavy-gauge galvanized steel cabinet with a baked-on powder coat finish and rust-resistant screws protect the unit from corrosion and weather hazards.
This unit replaced a 9 year old 3 ton, 13 SEER Trane. It was installed August 2018. No issues with the installation or during the two scheduled system checkups. Highly recommend based on our experience.

"HVAC Licensed Contractor Review"

Very Unsatisfied
I've been a licensed HVAC contractor for 37 years. We have sold and or serviced just about every brand of equipment out there. Recently I had a customer call with no cooling on a Heat pump we installed less than a year ago. When I arrived to service the unit there was no Freon. A copper tube connected to a service port in the outdoor unit had a hole worn in it from vibration against the reversing valve. From the factory, this copper tube should have never been installed touching anything. The hole (leak) had to be located, repaired, the system evacuated and recharged with new Freon. A $550 repair that was caused at the factory. Goodman refused to stand behind their product and the homeowner had to pay for their negligence. Goodman used to make a good product, but not any more! I will never sell this product to anyone, again!

"Goodman Manufacturing reliability- not good"

Very Unsatisfied
I would not buy another Goodman product again! Our indoor air conditioning unit stopped working before one year of installation, have a 1-year warranty parts & labor + 10-year on parts. Couldn't get the company that installed it to take my calls. I was told by the company manufacturer in Houston, Texas that the warranty was only valid with the contractor (which didn't take my calls). They could only give me names & phone numbers of local contractors that could service my unit, but I was responsible for labor charges. I am adamant in not recommending any Goodman products to anyone!

"Great heat pump – quiet and efficient"
5.0 rating
Very Satisfied
I'm glad I got a Goodman heat pump. After hearing bad reviews, I asked my dealer and he said he loved Goodman and that he stood behind it. I got a great system with a better warranty for less than other brands. What else could I ask for?
A homeowner on hvac-talk.com trying to choose between the GSZ14 and an AirTemp unit noted that the GSZ14 was $700 cheaper but decided to go with the AirTemp because of a higher SEER rating and a better contractor. A homeowner on doityourself.com asked what the difference was between the GSZ14 and SSZ14 and was told one difference is the warranty. The homeowner decided not to go with either unit, instead choosing a Goodman GSZ13.
