The Goodman GCVC9 is a discontinued two-stage, variable-speed gas furnace with an efficiency of up to 93% AFUE. The unit was designed for multi-position installation. It had an aluminized steel tubular primary heat exchanger and a stainless steel secondary heat exchanger. The multi-speed induced draft blower motor and variable-speed circulating blower provided reduced noise levels. The heavy-gauge steel cabinet was fully insulated for improved efficiency and sound reduction. The GCVC9 was compatible with Goodman’s Comfortnet Communicating System.
I bought a house that was two years old but never lived in. Since then I’ve been here for three years and only used the furnace for four months out of the year. I have changed the igniter twice and have had code 2 and 3 on and off for two years. I changed the filter every year. I never had a problem with the last furnace. Goodman furnaces are very temperamental and leave you freezing in the winter. Even though they’re only needed a few months a year, you’ll be cold.
"No Problems Ever"
I bought this furnace and ac and was installed by a extremely competent technician. I opted to get the variable speed fan for extra electrical savings. I have not been disappointed with my purchase and would buy another Goodman. My gas bills have dropped by about 1/3 they were before and my house stays warm in winter and cool in summer.
