Fraser-Johnston Brand Overview

Fraser-Johnston Manufacturer Overview

Fraser-Johnston designs and manufactures residential and commercial heating and cooling products, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, and packaged systems. Fraser-Johnston is a brand of Johnson Controls Unitary Products, which had global net sales of approximately $30 billion in 2017.

Corporate History

Initially established as a part of the heating and cooling manufacturing company Westinghouse, Fraser-Johnston was sold to York International in 1981. In 2005, York was purchased by Johnson Controls, an electric service company specializing in automatic temperature regulation systems. All Fraser-Johnston residential products are manufactured in a 1.5 million square-foot facility in Wichita, Kansas, while light commercial equipment is produced in a Norman, Oklahoma facility.

Product Lines

Fraser-Johnston provides a wide selection of baseline and high-performance heating and cooling systems. High-performance cooling systems and heat pumps can offer up to 22 SEER and have both single- and multi-zone cooling units available.

Fraser-Johnston gas furnaces cover a wide range of efficiencies and installation positions. The modulating, multi-position TP9C reaches up to 98 percent AFUE in a compact package while units such as the 80 percent AFUE TM8X operate at a single stage with a 5-speed direct drive. Reliability and easy conversion are key features highlighted by the manufacturer.

Environmental Impact

Several of Fraser-Johnston are Energy Star approved, meaning they operate with 15- to 25-percent more efficiency than standard models. In addition, Fraser-Johnston’s parent company, Johnson Controls, reports that it has contributed efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and is involved in more than 500 renewable energy projects including solar, wind and geothermal technologies.

Fraser-Johnston products are equipped with a written limited warranty on parts that covers any defective components. Additional coverage may be offered on specific components, such as the compressor or heat exchanger, depending on the model. The length of the warranty will vary based on the individual unit.
