The brand previously known as Evcon is now known as Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning. Coleman manufactures residential and light commercial air conditioners, heat pumps and gas and oil furnaces. The Coleman brand of heating and cooling equipment is marketed under license by York, A Johnson Controls Co., and headquartered in Norman, Okla.
York parent company Johnson Controls Inc. posted net sales of $30 billion in 2017.
Evcon Industries was created in 1990 when Beacon Capital Corp. bought Coleman’s heating and cooling divisions. The Coleman name itself dates to 1900 when W.C. Coleman first sold lanterns; the Coleman Co. has manufactured HVAC products since 1958. In 1996, York acquired Evcon Industries and marketed these products under the Evcon-Coleman brand name. Since 1999, Evcon-Coleman has been exclusively marketed under the Coleman brand name.
Coleman (Evcon) manufactures residential and light commercial air conditioners, heat pumps and gas and oil furnaces under the Echelon, LX and Comforteer names.
Coleman’s standard warranty is 10 years on parts and 10 years on the compressor, when registered online within 90 days of installation (otherwise, the warranty reverts to a 5-year limited parts guarantee). An extended plan is available from individual dealers.
