re is a discontinued brand of residential wood boilers and furnaces. The Empyre brand was manufactured by Pro-Fab Industries, which went out of business in 2016. Pro-Fab industries was headquartered in Aborg, Manitoba (Canada).
Corporate History
Pro-Fab was founded in 1989 to market a homemade pellet stove, the Cozeburn. The company went on to design and manufacture a variety of indoor and outdoor wood furnaces and boilers, including the Empyre brand. The Pro-Fab Group included several companies serving a wide variety of industries, including alternative energy heating, agriculture, and laser cutting. Pro-Fab went out of business in 2016.
Product Lines
The Empyre line of wood furnaces used gasification technology and included the Empyre, Empyre Pro Series, Empyre Elite, and Empyre Elite XT. The Elite came in two sizes and was an indoor unit, while the other units, including the Elite XT, were designed for outdoor installation. The Empyre Pro was designed for a wide range of applications, including radiant or forced air heating, domestic hot water, and swimming pools.
In 2012 the Empyre Elite XT 100 and the Empyre Elite 200 wood furnaces both won Vesta Finalist awards, which honor innovation and technology, from Hearth & Home Magazine.
Warranty
Empyre units were covered by a 10-year warranty on the firebox and water jacket, pro-rated after the second year. There was also a 2-year parts and workmanship warranty and a 1-year labor warranty.
