As an hvac Contractor my first responsibility is to my customers. I for a long time sold and endorsed Dunkirk boilers. That has now changed. Acting on numerous complaints about leaking from either a crack in the heat exchanger or from one of the factory installed items in the heat exchanger. Now I have a customer with a q90 that actually caught fire after a leak shorted the transformer. I am now reviewing all sales of the Dunkirk boilers and will take what ever action necessary to ensure my customers get taken care of. I urge anyone with a Dunkirk boiler to have it checked for leaks by your hvac Contractor.

This unit replaced a Lennox boiler that only lasted 3 years. This one has been a maintenance nightmare. I have replace so many ignition starters that my HVAC company keeps them in stock just for me. Now the broiler has cracked after only 8 years. Lennox/Dunkirk are giving us the run around on honoring the warranty. Avoid at all costs!

Addario's Plumbing charged us $7600 for installing a Dunkirk Q90-200 Hi-efficiency gas boiler in Dec/05. It took them 3 weeks to make it work. Five months later the boiler broke down, water burst out from the boiler unit. No heat for ~a week until the boiler was replaced. Within 6 months the system malfunctioned again, and we paid $605. 9 months later, another ~$600. Since then, we paid at least $1000 or more each year to fix the system without heat on and off. Now, the boiler cracked and leaked water. We will have to find a boiler and replace it, need to find another company. Bad product, irresponsible labor and parts, stay away from them.

Originally installed Lennox Complete Heat unit. Had control board issues then failed after 3 years. Replaced with another but had to pay over $800 shipping and labor for warranty? Replacement. It failed 3 years later. Lennox discontinued so replaced with Dunkirk Quantum 090-150. I again paid parts and labor. Heat exchanger cracked and flooded basement 5 years later. Replaced and again I paid parts and Labor. Now 2 years later the control board failed and it will cost me $632 for the part and extra for labor. If this were a car they would cover labor and I would have the Lemon Law to use.
