Ducane CMP Furnace Overview

The Ducane CMP furnace is a discontinued variable-speed, two-stage gas furnace, sold between the years 2000 and 2006. The CMP series could be installed in an upflow or left horizontal configuration. It featured gradual blower acceleration and deceleration, resulting in quieter performance, and a diagnostic sleeve provided fast and accurate troubleshooting. Ducane CMP Furnace Reviews

"Poor performance"

Very Unsatisfied

Sadly, when building my new home in 2005, I did not insist upon a specific manufacturer of furnace. I have regretted it ever since. Pilot issues, burned out induction motor, and no real warranty support. On the cooling unit, the copper tubes split the same summer the home was built, and has split once additionally since. Over past month the Ducane has continuously worried me that it was going to fail upon heading into the heating season. I am having it serviced one last time, and based upon the independent repairman’s opinion, may chose to preemptively replace the unit so my family is not stranded during January. Very disappointed in the product and certainly would not suggest the purchase of the Ducane Fits-All, regardless of budget.

Cmpev125u5 with variable speed fan. Has ge ecm 2.3 fan motor. Problem initially with surge suppressor (in the middle of winter of course), which seems to be a common problem. Replaced suppressor but have other issues now. Trying to find replacement motor control module but it is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Will never buy another furnace with an ecm fan motor, no matter what brand the furnace is.

My house was built in 2003. The Ducane gas furnace model # CMP3075U3A, serial # 2738740216, the induce motor has to be replaced according to the PG&E repairman. I’m in the process of finding if it is still under warranty.

Other CMP Reviews

Only one comment could be found on the Ducane CMP furnace. On Hvacmechanic.com, a homeowner stated that the roll-out switch (ROS) activated before the limit switch reached its set point. The homeowner had the ROS and limit switch replaced, only to later be told that the problem was actually caused by dirty ductwork.

CMP Warranty

The Ducane CMP came with a limited lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger and a 5-year parts warranty.
