United States Stove Company was formed in 1869 by a merger of Wetter Manufacturing and Perry Stove Works. In 1937 the company signed a contract with Sears & Roebuck, and over the next 37 years three-quarters of their product was sold through Sears. Today the company’s manufacturing plant is located in Bridgeport, Alabama, with plants also located in Oregon and Tennesee.
Currently there is one model of Clayton furnace, the 1802G, which burns both wood and coal and can heat a home of up to 3,600 square feet. The 1802G produces up to 218,000 BTU per hour and is designed to work in conjunction with existing ductwork and an existing furnace.
The 1802G is covered by a 3-year warranty on the firebox, flue collar and doors; 2 years on the bi-metallic thermostat; and one year on gaskets, electrical, cabinet and finish.
