The Central Boiler Classic is a wood furnace available in four models, with a tank capacity ranging from 140 gallons to 764 gallons. It features a ripple top design for increased heat transfer area and a vent cap designed to eliminate evaporation. The unit's large, insulated cast iron door is designed for easy loading and maximum efficiency, with a powder coating for increased paint durability. A water-filled HeatLock baffle will not warp or burn out, and sprayed-on urethane foam insulation forms an airtight seal around the water jacket. Due to the EPA's New Source Performance Standards, new Classic models will only be available until the end of 2015. Base models of the Classic start at $5,490, though prices can vary depending on shipping and options.
I'm on 11 years now saved over 30,000 $ my 6048 is the best investment I've ever made I've only replaced the door rope twice this thing has been flawless
"Warranty is very misleading"
After 8 1/2 years, 2 pumps and water jacket leaks I'm very unhappy about spending the time and money on this boiler. Central Boiler will not stand behind their warranty. Even after I cut out the defective baffle and sent pictures to them, they insist that the leaks were caused by corrosion. I was accused of cleaning the metal scaling before I took pictures, that Didn't happen. They wanted me to ship them the boiler so they could rebuild the firebox, don't get caught in this scam! Shipping and rebuild costs would have exceeded the cost of a new one. I'll never buy another one due to the fraudulent advertised 25 year warranty I've experienced with Central Boiler!

P o s purchased in 2013 water jacket leaks into fire box.called welders they refused to repair had nothing to weld together. Called the company all they said it would take 2100 dollars to fix it. They would pay transportation there I would have to pay for shipping back. This was the Monday after Thanksgiving. Dealer came and picked it up. I called him last week to see how it was coming it was still in his lot this was 1/17/19. They said I burned garbage in it but I have my own dumpster why would I need to burn it. So they said it was because I burned it 160 degrees in the fall when I didn't need so much heat then turned it up for the winter. So this morning I went and picked it up.
Central boilers 25 yr warranty is useless. My stove is only 4 yrs old and started overheating and burning excessive amounts of wood. Upon inspection of the door, I discovered the draft was not sealing properly and sucking air around it. The door is warped. I have done the proper maintenance and never burnt anything other than wood. The central boiler will not replace the door because they say it's not a manufacturers defect. According to them the door has build up and needs to be grinded to remove. Not so, I have removed the door and grinded it to try and fix. This did not work. I have also tried every way possible to adjust the door and also put a new draft on it. I can take a flashlight and shine up on the draft and see light thru it. It's quite evident to me, it's warped! They want me to take the door off and send it to them for inspection. We're in the middle of winter and the stove is my only heat source. So, this is not possible. I would be paying freight there and back if the door was still refused under warranty. I have decided to buy a new door, which is now steel not cast iron and have the old door machined. Kinda wonder why the replacement door is a different type of metal. Bottom line, they do not honor their warranty and only give you a runaround. I do not recommend central boiler!!!!!!
The steel is untreated before it is spray insulated. They say the foam seals it and it does not. Every applicator of spray insulation I spoke with says the steel needs to be coated before spraying. This is why the outer tanks rust from the outside in, as it did with mine. Also, the foam holds moisture, which accelerates the issue. When speaking with the representative, they will not even reason with you about the process. I'm very unhappy with the customer service. They have a great concept, but are blind to their downfalls in the manufacturing process.
A homeowner on hearth.com was trying to choose between the Classic and a Heatmaster unit which was $2000 less. A couple of people said to get the Heatmaster because the price is so much lower, but a slight majority preferred the Classic because Central Boiler is a bigger company with more support. A homeowner on forestryforum.com deciding between the Classic and the E-Classic was told by most responders that the Classic is time-tested and that most customers have been satisfied with it.
